Like we are getting morrowind for free. I suspect that they may be zos employee but who knows

We should get one free and two additional purchasable ones. Current max is 12, so 3 roles for each class, with this we can continue this. And for players who have all slots unlocked and used one of the new slots should be free because they couldn't know a new class would be coming.
    Sorry for my English.

    Really it's not free.
I buy extention to get acces to all of its features.
Warden class is one of its features.
It's not my problem that all character slots are used on my account with top characters (i've also paid for extra slots before).

It's pretty much the industry standard. Most MMOs give a free slot or two when they release an expansion with a new class.

I agree, I didnt come up with the idea to include a character slot just because I wanted free stuff.

In every other MMO I have played they increased the maximum character limit at no cost. So it just makes sense to do the same with Morrowind.
So this isnt all about getting free stuff, its more about if MMO companies should include a character slot when they release and expac especially when a new class is added.

Maybe ZoS will see how many customers they will make happy and include a slot smile:

I voted yes because I would like it if they included one but I am perfectly happy with them allowing us to purchase more slots. It would be nice if one was included but I do not believe we are entitled to one and ZOS is not required to give us another for free.

Ironically, it's the +2 for sale that bugs me more than not being able to get one for free. Since we get 8 for "free," then can buy 4 more, so 3 each of 4 classes, but now we can only buy 2 more, so one slot short of 3x5.

But, hey, throwing a couple slots in with the box purchase would be entirely appropriate.

Seeing as all my character slots are full of mules and toons I actually play, yeah, I'd like at least one more slot so I can try out the warden. I can't get rid of the mules till ZOS pulls their heads out of their collective asses and gives us housing storage.

This is my situation as well. I don't sub so paying the $40 for the content was expected and no biggie.
But having to delete a mule, start the horse crap again, and do the item shuffle amoungst my remaining toons doesn't thrill me in the least. My bank is maxed and 3 of my 6 characters I play are maxed out as well. The other 3 only have a couple upgrades left to buy. And I still feel like I spend way too much time item shuffling.
Or I can spend more money on top of the initial expansion cost just to try the new class; that I could end up not enjoying anyway.
It would seem, in my humble opinion, that including an additional character slot in the cost of the expansion would be a courtious gesture to the player base.
Either way I am excited to return to Vvardenfell again.

I would not use the word "free" though - that leaves a bad impression. I think it would be reasonable to include an additional character slot in the purchase price, with the option to purchase another two if desired.

if you use it as a new game... new account... you get eight free characters and the option to buy six more.

    there. done. you are welcome.

Purchasing a new account isn't a good option. You would lose all your CP points, crown store purchases like mounts and pets, couldnt trade bound gear between accounts.

    or put another way...

Purchasing a new account is a good option. You would restart from scratch as a whole new game like you first did, get to email BoE gear back and forth between accounts, be your own crafting buddy and get a new bank with cheap upgrades costs for both characters and bank again.

its all a matter of what you prioritize - lotsa character slots or existing gains from other characters.

You know the best solution, from a trolling perspective? Two character slots included with the box, and two added to the crown store. Then everyone who tried to max out would have 16 slots divided between 5 classes, and would lose their minds.

In all seriousness though, given there's a new class, given there's a new tutorial and content aimed at new characters, there really should be a couple character slots included with the box.

Also, as the game has aged, I'm finding it harder to explain and justify the character per account limits. 12 or 14 slots as a hardcap is weirdly low. This is a service they can make money off of, and it's really curious that ZOS doesn't seem to be interested in selling more.

I don't understand it either. I understand starting us off with a relatively low limit but if people are willing to pay for more character slots why not let them? I know some people in other games who have 70 characters on an account (yes, really) and at least 1 additional account. They do things like make every possible race/gender/class combination, or have 1 character for every build of every class (in ESO that'd be something like 1 character to use each item set).

All I can think is it's because then you could pay 1500 crowns for a new character with a 60 slot inventory, or 6000 crowns for 60 slots on your existing character, and ZOS want the extra 5000 crowns. But I'm not convinced it works that way in practice, especially after they told us how few people max out their bags.

(And then of course some people would buy as many characters as they can and then buy bag space for them all as well.)

I think we should get 1 slot for the new class. Many of us have already bought the extra slots and can't get another one for the new class. Why should I have to delete a character to be able to play the new class?

I don't personally need another slot, but if a new class is a feature of a paid expansion, everyone should be given the opportunity to play that class without paying for an extra slot, in addition. I see no need to give more than one unless the expansion offers more than one new class.
