actually the best way to advertise is via word of mouth. ESO is a good game. are there kinks in it? sure it does, which game doesnt. But the players themselves need to put it out there that the game is awesome.

I disagree, only handful of my friends play games and if some do, they dont like ESO.

I personally like music videos hundred time more than some youtubers like Jenna Marbles or Angry Joe etc. I think music videos has much greater impact than some YouTube trolls.

I dont really know why we need advertisement, last Steam F2P weekend they gained almost 500k new users, when that runs out, then they need to think new ways.

This Cheesy phone game add that aired during a superbowl, was a million times better then we ever had; which was a good meter for the sad state of ESO.

I'm a female for a start, so that ad you linked in the OP just looks cheesy to me...it really was just trying to appeal to male virgins and other fumblers and definitely not women and not even anything to do with gamers and gaming.

I'd much rather have something that shows a sense of humour.

Still anyone who has made a career in advertising or sales would understand why sexy sells better then cringey.

When crappy phone games have a-list actors/models and we have nothing it's quite contrasting.

I started to think those F2P Steam Weekends wouldnt it be smarter if there was a limit of how many ppl could download it, like 250k after thats reached, you gotta buy the game or wait for another weekend. I think people would buy the game if they missed the offer, imagine you wait and wait for the Weekend, you're too late, you get pissed off and buy the game. Maybe Couple F2P Weekend per year sounds good to me.

That's not exactly consumer friendly and I don't think ZOS needs any more attention on how unconsumer friendly they can be sometimes.

Honestly I think they do a fine job of drawing in new players. They really don't need flashy adverts at hand egg games or on TV to draw in players. They're winning MMO game of the years, have Bethesda tweeting and retweeting their stuff and now Morrowind.

Those crappy phone games have nothing else to offer. They're trying to get noticed before the next big thing comes along, so have to quickly get vulnerable (stupid) people in who'll part with their dollars before moving onto another thing.

Basically with that kind of advertising they're putting all their efforts into creating fast money for a short time.

So lets skip past the part where we know what ESO bases their commercials off of.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cs6A-FCUPdw

ESO does not need to follow step of micro transaction fueled cell phone games. Elder scrolls is ready to make it's own mark.

We take a c-list blonde but non of the action?
The thing about our main commercials making our game into a joke; is others think of you as a joke.

How about a live action cryo battlefield? is anything over 2 actors achievable? Can ZOS even advertise itself without being a parody?

    Cheers!

The commercials would look better if they were based off that.

Barbie doll women don't do it for me. The slithering dragons made me harder. But I'm q-u-e-e-r. I guess most men like barbie. And women apparently.

I'm proud that they got superbowl time. If it doesn't work we loyal fans will run damage control. We always do anyway.

Stop editing words on an adult forum! Omg. I should be allowed to call my own self g-a-y.

Nothing in this world is free, so consumers most definitely know that.

I think Valve should open some music section in Steam, where devs can put their music videos to promote their game. Boy, I would love to see some music video for Batman Arkham Knight for example. Not to mention when devs have put their own video there, players can make their own versions. Music video isnt probably the best idea at launch, but like 3 year after launch it surely start to sound like one.

Yeah, I agree they are doing quite good job now, 500k user free Weekend was good indicator, but it aint gonna last forever, I give it 2 year max.

As this thread is discussing advertisement of the game rather than the actual game we'll be closing this thread.
