I've Completed VMoL Finally...

I finally earned my VMoL skin, after 18 hours and tons upon tons of progression groups...

And in the process, what did I get? Well... I got into an argument with my ex-guild co-owner, and ended-up voluntarily leaving the guild. I got insulted and harshly disrespected by someone who I thought was like a brother to me for years. And well... I made a TON of new friends and contacts, who offered to farm trials with me and do leaderboard runs with me. I also joined 3 different guilds that do end-game content, and linked-up with a lot of top players on NA-PS4. And had a lot of things explained to me, that I had misconceptions about. And most importantly, I linked-up with an old buddy of mine who actually made all this possible aka @Mortehl .

So was it worth it in the end...? Yes. Yes it was. I'd go through all of the bs and nonsense again if I had to. And if possible, I look forward to helping others on PS4-NA earn clears if they're interested. Because lord knows, I know the struggle and the feeling of being an outcast. I know the feeling of feeling as though you offer so much, but rotting away and not actually pushing yourself to the max. And I don't want people to feel that way, if I can help it.

Yup. Exactly. I got it without the guild I initially started with. And how supposedly it's about the bond and all that. But it's okay. As I said, I linked-up again with my bro @Mortehl so I'm more than thrilled. It made me sad and upset at the time that all this happened, but I'm over it. And I'm incredibly appreciative and thankful to those who ran it with me for the hours after hours that we spent in there. And again, if I can help anyone get their skin? I most certainly would, and would happily invest 18 or more hours with them as well.

Good lord. Sounds like I just read someone's experience starting a business, training for the olympics, or going through basic training.

THIS is what is wrong with gaming today. That this drama reflects your experience in a v i d e o g a m e and is presented as a positive experience boggles my mind.

It's funny that you say that, considering I hate drama. Even more so that you said I made it all seem good. No comrade. Lol. It wasn't good. But, the good things that happened compared to the bad made everything a much brighter experience.

Like I said in my previous thread about VMoL. It seems to have an odd effect on people upon completion (on PS4). It alters you in a sense, whether we acknowledge it or not. Sometimes for the worst, and sometimes for the better. Although the remaining factor in it all is that something negative seems to occur from it. Negativity and VMoL just tend to go hand-and-hand. Either it is growing from within a guild, or from those you're running with. Or maybe from someone else that has seen you with the skin, or heard of your success. The point being that the negativity all has ties to VMoL.

Well, some people don't regard video games as toys. Sure, for 90, 95, 99 percent of people playing a bad performance has no effect on the rest of their lives in a meaningful sense. That doesn't mean we can't aim for achievement or strive for things within that field. I would even argue that a big problem with gaming "these days" is how much they are presented as toys, lacking in challenge or any sense of progression in skill.

Its like Maelstrom, all about memory, no skill involved! whereas pvp is about reaction, knowledge of class and quick thinking....hence PVP in all games is the real end game content.

Good, you have done it finally. I am struggling with groups and wasted hours but always ending up with "taking too much time to progress ahead"

Some are giving tips to again redistribute CP, some are leaving..

PS4 NA have few good groups only running VMOL successfuly.

One day will definitely concur, even if have to organize myself a group!

Good for you, @Ch4mpTW into completing vMOL and finding a new guild. I can't say that I'm jealous because I am. It's truly unfortunate that you're a PS4 player, and not PC. I would of loved to participate in the new guild that you're in now.

I felt it was worth it, strictly for the skin. And I am willing to help those who've are SERIOUS about clearing it however I can. Even after all the nonsense I've encountered from people since Maw has been a thing. But in terms of putting up with the snobbiness and all that nonsense? Nope. Never again. Never EVER again.

@Lord_Dexter Feel free to message me your PSN, and I'll do all I can to get you your skin. I will work with you and those I know to make it happen as soon as I can, but understand it won't be easy (as I'm sure you're more than aware of). It hurts so bad when you get the final boss to ~200k HP only to wipe.

I still hold that progression groups and dedication are important and necessary. What I said in the last thread I still believe. I do have to agree though that's some grade A nonsense. Run with whomever you want to. Help whomever you want to. Unless it impacts the group you belong to do what you want.

@raidentenshu_ESO If you were on PS4, I'd scoop you up in an instant along with Dexter. And I'd invest tons upon tons of hours to help you guys get your skins, because trust me I know that feeling. Lord knows I know, bro. I'd go into progression runs and hate it, because the people running it made me feel like I was being met with a treat. That I was average, and mediocre like that. I did DPS tests in my past for some of those runs, and I hate DPS tests like nothing you can imagine.

... Hated it. Sit up in a group getting spoken down at, and the people hosting acting like they're baby sitting and like we learners were a bother. Meanwhile outside of runs, in Guild Chat speaking so enthusiastically about other people they ran with. But with us, nothing but sighs and grunts of disappointment. Regardless of how thankful I was (as I still am and was) of being brought along, it was met with half-hearted you're welcomes and sometimes awkward silences.

Crazy how months prior before Maw I was all buddy-buddy with a lot of those very same people. When I was sitting up in runs for literally sometimes 6pm in the evening, to 6am-7am. They quickly forgot about all that in my ex-guild. They forgot about the times I gave away the loot I needed, because I wanted to make sure someone else got theirs. They forgot about that. They forgot about how I tolerated a lot of their ego tripping, and moments of rudeness. And simply brushed it off. How to help people get consistent leaderboard runs for the guild, I'd decline participating in Maw progress runs being offered to me by other guilds. They forgot all that. How when I returned to playing ESO after quitting, the first thing I did was help out in trial runs. When I just wanted to have alone time, but instead put the guild before me...

It's wild how you gotta really be in despair and feeling like crap to see who is really looking out for you, and willing to lend a hand. So by all means, whatever I can do to help anyone get a skin within my power I will. It feels horrible to want something badly, and see a lot of folks walking around with it. Meanwhile you know deep own inside you're more than capable of having it as well, but are held back by people refusing to acknowledge your presence. Let alone offer a hand to help.

Well, it's quite true that hard and competitive endgame content brings out the worst in many players - and your post is a perfect example of that. OP's post too (guild torn, long-term friends turning into rivals, etc.)
Regardless of what side one stands ("skinned" vs. "non-skinned") one will just blame the players on the other side.
