Looking for VMA Stam NB build advice

Hello,
I leveled a StamNb a while back, but never did a whole lot with it, so I am pretty much a noob on how the class works. I have been using a Stam Sorc for VMA clears. I have experience with VMA, but am still a relative newcomer.

So, I am looking for advice on StamNb build/rotation specifically for VMA. I am guessing NMG, VO and Veli/Krahgs for the gear (all of which I have), but REALLY need help on skills and rotation.

Thanks for your time in responding.

Depends if you go 2h/bow or dw/bow. You have the right idea for gear so it depends on what you wanna run. I run 2h/bow. Basically buff up with rally/relentless/siphoning and then trap beast/endless hail while hacking and slashing everything with surprise attacks and weaves lol.
Anybody got a group? LFG, anybody? Hello?

Probably DW, because that is what I am used to. Might not be bad to try 2h for a change of pace, though (maybe once I get comfortable clearing with DW).

Only issue with DW is not having a burst heal from rally and you have to run potions for major brutality. I only DW with my stam sorc and dk but since you're used to it I would just stick with DW.

DW is op if you have the maelstrom daggers/axes lol.

I used to only run on my magblade due to how easy it was, but eventually I got sick of the notorious “staff lag” where there is a stutter when any enemy dies so I ended up switching to stam. I’m not by any means the best at stam nb in vma and I do run some non-meta stuff, but I do make leaderboards every week by a comfortable margin, earned flawless on my stam nb, and currently hover in the high 530k range for score (I imagine I’ll be able to get in the 560s once I run it a bit more, only have done about 20 runs with it, oh and once I get VO gear).

I’d definitely say stick with 5 VO, but honestly I’d go hundings instead of nmg. The only time the buff ever really gives you any use is on bosses. I also found that I love using clever alchemist in the arena (by accident, didn’t realize I had my pvp 5 piece on lol), but of course this isn’t meta/for everyone and requires good timing for utilizing the insane burst. I also highly suggest sticking with veli over kraghs. Sure the procs will sometimes miss and only one can hit the boss at a time, but I found kragh’s range, paired with the environmental chaos that is maelstrom, made velidreth better.

My bar setup looked like this:
DW: surprise attack, vigor, blood craze, killer’s blade, steel tornado with soul harvest ideally but sometimes I ran incap as I was too lazy to keep switching morphs. Rend also can be useful on round 8 for the lurchers and on rounds 3 and 5 final boss when you ignore adds and burn the boss. For execute phase, weave in incap/soul harvest with killer’s blade.

Bow: endless hail, poison injection, relentless focus, razor caltrops (siphoning attacks if you need it works here as well), and rearming trap with shooting star for my ult on all rounds except final where I prefer dawnbreaker.

Rotation: same as most stam rotations would be, I put trap down on spawn points along with endless and caltrops then charged a heavy bow attack into poison injection at the other adds when they spawn. When more adds are piled up I steel tornado them down. On bosses it’s the basic rearming trap, endless, poison injection, then weaving with surprise attack rotation. It’s less maintenance in my opinion than a maelstrom dw rotation which is quite nice. No matter what though, relentless focus will always be clunky so I don’t recommend getting hung up on proccing the assassin’s will bow, just keep it up for the damage buff and extra stam regen.

I guess you could run 2h instead, but I really wouldn’t recommend it as it prevents you from running 5, 5, 2 piece monster set and I really love steel tornado, having two glyphs (increase weapon damage and poison), and having higher weapon damage

As for potions I just run weapon pots; with alchemy satchels it’s not that big of a deal getting mats and since I run the arena in the 48-50 minute range I don’t use that many. I do run orzorga’s food because I don’t have VO. With VO five piece and especially if you chose to run siphoning attacks, I’d say you’d definitely be okay with max health max stam food.

I’m guessing you will struggle a bit at first with healing/squishiness due to coming from stam sorc, so don’t be afraid to dodge and make good use of vigor lol. Also, don’t forget that your major resolve/major ward comes from surprise attack via the shadow passives. Other than that, it’s just about memorizing spawn points, following mechanics, and having a bit of good luck :)!
