Hello I have recently taken an interest in ESO again due to some of the new content and changes I heard were coming into game. I am on the Xbox One NA mega server and have not played since just before the release of the Thieves Guild DLC. The only reason I quit in the first place was because Cyrodil was impossible for me to play due to the lag ( even though I have 200mbps internet and I am directly hardwired to the internet). Also PVP just didn't make sense to me, I never did any damage and I always got completely melted even though i was a 350CP Dragonknight with 40k hp, 32k stamina, 11k magicka, 41k physical resistance, 38k ish spell resistance and ~2750 weapon damage when fully buffed. So out of frustration I went back to a game where damage and mechanics made sense to me (World of Warcraft). So out of curiosity I was wondering how playable is Cyrodil nowadays regarding lag and is PVP still this thing were people are forced to build the exact same builds to combat other peoples builds and stay competitive and in the meta every 2 weeks.

Basically, you seem to be a tank build right now. Tank builds are not known for high damage. Get a damage build instead if you want high damage. Yes, there are still a few builds you should follow if you want to do really well, and that will never change. Some gear/skills is simply inherently better than other gear/skills, and those "best" ones are what define the meta. Buffs and nerfs change this up a bit, but you'll find the meta is always the top-end because people spend a lot of time theorycrafting and testing builds to see what gives a slight edge, and those people then share their results which others who don't want to spend the time doing that copy. That is how meta is formed. If you want to not play a meta build but be able to compete with them on equal footing, do the theorycrafting and testing yourself instead of just picking random stuff and hoping for the best. Otherwise, either grab yourself a meta build or realize you aren't going to be competitive. Once you do have a good build, that is half the story; you still need to have the skills to be able to pull the build off, and that comes with practice.

As for the lag, no changes there.

Alright thanks for the feedback, that's really unfortunate this game has a lot going for it and so much further potential to be had. Just wish they could balance the way damage and damage reduction works in pvp similar to how other mmo's do that and are well known for it (and fix this god forsaken lag of course 10/10 unplayable).

also Lehran I know I am not suppose to be doing a ton of damage as a tank, but i expect to see the health bar move downwards somewhat when I use my take flight ultimate onto a nightblade with like 14k physical resistance and 22k hp...... and I am not really even a tank either because they turn around and 1 shot me it just...ugh it doesn't make sense.

interesting stats, not in alignment with gear/attribute/cp/mundus stone limitations.

lag is a byproduct of many things. 1. your system, 2. your isp, 3. number of players in fight. 4. animation cancelling 5. specific skill mechanics.

Then all I ask is don't release a massive scale pvp MMO on an xbox one if the system cannot handle it.

Because as I have previously stated in the original post, I am hardwired to the internet at very, very high speeds and my xbox one is still pretty new so there should be zero issues with my end of the bargain.

I believe Ping Reduction Tokens are planned for the new Chapter. These will be obtainable from loot crates.

I'm positive the Xbox could handle it. However it severely depends on whether the game can handle it, cause I recall there being complaints of lag during large fights from PC players as well. It just depends on how optimized the game engine is.

Cyrodiil isn't unplayable. It just becomes that way when you get everyone in the Campaign converging on the same fight cause they see the "recent battle" icon on the map and go "Ooh I'mma go there!". There's no chain of command, no proper logistics. Every player is their own general in this war and it sucks. You get giant zergs going after the zerg that has control of Bleakers Outpost cause they know it's an Alliance Point farm, and then you have that one organized Guild of Magic characters camping one of the bridge chokepoints spamming their Destruction Staff Ultimates on passing armies.

I need to stop there or else I'm going to get salty.

your missing point, there are many components to causing lag. you cannot just say its the system, the isp or whatnot, as usually its the compilation of factors. and sad to say, xbox's are to my knowledge not upgradable, so you using manufacturer specs which are to my knowledge rarely upgraded. considering xbox1 is ~7 years old. it is very reasonable that xbox1 is comparable with a 7 year old computer trying to play game, it will play but, will suffer lag quicker then a new-2year old system.

    1) Xbox one is not 7 years old try half that and I still say why would they release the game on a system that can't play it to its full potential.
    2) A friend had the same problem on PC and his computer is a monster. I put it together for him, he has 16gb ram, latest intel processor, and a 12gb Nvidia Titan video card and he also has great internet.

I appreciate your feedback but I don't know why people are always trying to make justifications and backing up this malarkey, they need to do something about this.

The formula in its current state just doesn't fit the bill.
