Constant lag spikes with your servers but...

I am not having this issue with any other games, surfing the net and no I don't have pron downloads running ( just want to clarify that for any one, learned my lesson asking in zone chat )

My windows firewall is turned off, I am using NORTONS firewall and ESO is enabled. I get little spikes from frame rate and even with the sliders turned down I still got them.. They bounce even when standing idle looking at a low particle wall...

They occasionaly spike but rest around 50 something. The latency spikes are by far the worse. I might be at 99 and it will jump to +999 then bounce to around 137 and sit there for a bit then jump to 447 and 999 then back...

Any idea on a fix? its messing up my game.

Latency issues like this are normally linked with Internet connectivity and network issues. Try the following:

    Power Cycling the Network

Power cycling the network will allow you to start over and re-establish a connection to the internet, eliminating any stale connections causing an issue. To complete this please follow the below steps:
    1.Shut down the computer
2.Turn off your router and/or modem
3.Wait two minutes and turn your router and/or modem back on
4.Wait an additional two minutes for them to power up and then turn back on the computer

Upgraded my internet package with provider incase that's an issue.. Power cycle modem for the last 6 hours ( since I was asleep ) in other words I just woke up about 5 min ago and turned it on.

Ok speed test before I press " post reply " and hit play for eso.

    Ok off to eso!!

ok , guess it did not take long , I just now logged off. I played, everything went great for about 10 minutes. Than started the FPS issues and then the spikes...

A week ago there was no issues.

Nothing has changed on my end except an increase of internet speeds
I just finished resetting my router ( it and my computer turned back on after 6 hours off )

NO downloads OR uploads my end...

FPS just out of no where stars flocculating... No ideas ? Any ideas?

You have a great computer and your speed test is fine . It's ZoS servers .

Well I will have to pay an extra 10 dollars for I think they said its going to be around 70 now instead of 50...
My drivers are updated, and even now, it still spikes but now its sitting around 137 latency.. Seems a week or two ago I was always getting a constant 100 latency and during laggy pvp at worst I got 55 fps instead of the standard 60... That's with particle sliders maxed.

I hope one of their officials replies and confirms the server issue... I did hear that it has something to do with testing the new patch and test server... I thought that was a totally separate connection.

If your using any addons i'd suggest shutting them off

Master Merchant is the big one, if your in any large guilds it will put your ping into the red or so periodically as it refreshes your sales.....

Also, try a gamping VPN like Battleping or somnething, most of them have free trials. There could be a Blackhole Router or a overloaded gateway between you and ZOS servers, and using a VPN will change the route of your packets(hopefully) to get around the problem area.

    Good luck

I tried that battleping, connected to Seattle server on west coast 1 and still same issue.

In reading other threads about latency issues when people were 100% positive it was not their connection as in theyhad crappy internet speeds outside of ESO, I heard something about reinstalling ESO.

So I am doing that as I type... I will connect once its finished with ZERO addons and see how that goes.

it is nice to see ZOS help out in tech support though, I am happy from the amount of support I've received. Restarting my router ( when you saw I posted a DxDiag log ) was a very good suggestion, I hadn't thought about restarting my router or even my computer for that matter. I always go to the forums to create an in depth post about latency and such with out ever trying something on my own.. making posts on the forum is just too much fun to not rush to first!!

Anyways lets see how this works...

ADD: Might take a week or two... My fast speeds and all with their servers is downloading it at 7.9 MB/s

    Ok Fresh install Check.
    No add-ons, Check
    Router reset, check,
    PC restarted, Check

Speed test conducted WHILE GAME WAS running, http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6023667118

Also tested while Game was NOT RUNNING http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6023669200

I can't think of anything else to do and sadly the amount of tech support from ZOS is too overwhelming for me to process..

I think you are on to something, I just tried a different speed test . I was unable to share the results the same was as the previous site however it let me pick Texas.. This was the result

Download Speed: 64649 kbps (8081.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 29253 kbps (3656.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

So I am guessing Texas has crappie internet now?

Nope, the issue is still ZOS's servers. Ping against serveral servers in Texas and there are all significantly better than the connection to this games servers.

I have the same issue. I play a few other mmo's and latency jumping all over the place just doesn't happen. But is sure does in ESO. Noe I'm going to pre-order Marrowind.....O.o

I might just head back to SWTR if this crap keeps up. I was actually more insulted by the suggestion of restarting my modem ( than the lack of any type of official explanation.
