Stay Nord or switch?

My main character since day 1 launch has been a Nord stamina build DK. I didn't do a lot of research before hand or I would have went with a redguard. Should I switch or stay Nord?

✭As a Stamina DPS or in PVP, Redguard outperforms Nord because of adrenaline rush. For a PVE Tank I'd rather be a Nord than a Redguard because of the HP bonus.
Ultimately you can make anything work though.0 -

✭My opinion is that, switching race isn't the way to solve any problem. Yes, racial passives are somewhat important, but if you struggle with something, switching race isn't going to solve any issue at all. If you are doing well with a Nord, you will do well with any other race, even a stamDK Altmer. If you aren't doing well with a Nord, there's a 100% chance that there's something wrong with your build, your playstyle, or your knowledge about the game.
If you are doing well, everything is fine, you don't really need to change race, save your money. If you aren't doing well, take a look at your build and your playstyle first before anything else.
In my opinion, only change race if you are bored and don't want to play as a Nord anymore. Like, you think Redguards look cooler for example.

aisriyth_ESO✭✭✭Generally speaking, so long as the race you are is adding something to your build i don't think its worth changing. If you were say.. a breton stam dk or an altmer stam dk then yeah, i could see it being worth while.
That being said, play it how you want to play it, the actual gains/losses are so minor it will only come up in near absolute bleeding edge content. I guarantee you that as a nord stam dk you will be able to get through vet dungeons or trials.0 -

It really depends on if you really want to go meta dps or not. Nord is fine. Kahjiit probably does the most damage with Redguard close behind it but also has the best sustain when melee.
Really takes a lot of work to get the most out of a character and make it worth spending all that crown for a race change.0 -

✭If min-maxing isn't that big of a deal to you & you like your character ( since you stuck with it this long and didn't start a new one I assume you do ) then I would say stay.

Nord is better for being tanky but I think there is still a better choice, honestly if your magicka based dk pick dunmer other then that orc, kahjit, or redguard are great choices.0 -

✭Keep Nord if you enjoy your character apperance, story or whatever. If you don't care, change. Bear in mind you can be effective with any class/race, mostly will depend on skill and gear. If you do want to be on the 1% of the leaderboards you will want to squeeze any % of stuff that will enhance your build as possible. I'm pretty sure there can be TOP 1 players with non min/max characters, but I'd wage the chances are super low. Just like a milisecond makes the difference in a swim race.0 -
If you tend to solo a lot, Nord is a good choice. My first character, which I made before I really understood the game at all, is a Nord Stam NB. It is still my main. I mostly like to solo, so the fact the Nord racial passives have +9% health, +20% health regen, and a flat -6% incoming damage reduction all help with survivability in a class (Stamblade) that otherwise has very little to help keep yourself up. I sometimes look at some of the other racial passives that are more offensive and get a little jealous...but honestly, you can't have everything.
If you are constantly doing group content and have a pocket healer keeping you alive, then yeah, another race might let you eke out another few % more DPS. I suspect for the large portion of people playing the game, that's not the case and it's not worth the crowns to make a racial switch.1
