Should one character slot be included for free with expansion?

You know the best solution, from a trolling perspective? Two character slots included with the box, and two added to the crown store. Then everyone who tried to max out would have 16 slots divided between 5 classes, and would lose their minds.

In all seriousness though, given there's a new class, given there's a new tutorial and content aimed at new characters, there really should be a couple character slots included with the box.

Also, as the game has aged, I'm finding it harder to explain and justify the character per account limits. 12 or 14 slots as a hardcap is weirdly low. This is a service they can make money off of, and it's really curious that ZOS doesn't seem to be interested in selling more.

1. It's not accurate. The expansion is not free, this poll appears to actually be asking if something should be included as part of it.
2. Have you not noticed the hate and vitriol that comes spewing out of some people when the word "free" appears in a forum request?

I don't care what other people think really . It saves brainpower for more important issues of the day , lie weather to order Chinese or Mexican for lunch . If I worried about people's wording around here I would need a psychiatrist after one day of posting .

My answer to that usually depends on which lunch I can get the fastest. Either one would be far more enjoyable than a psychiatrist.

Of course the majority will vote yes even if they don't care, because everyone will want something free.

Except it wouldn't be free, you'd have paid for it as part of the expansion.

BTW: Looking over my LOTRO account details I see that I have gained 2 "free" character slots with expansions, only one of which actually introduced a new class.

I do not think that a free character slot should come with the new "CHAPTER".

The Digital Collector's Upgrade - For those whom have already purchased the base game - Uk price c £50

Nevertheless, I do think that the 3 "DELUX" games (as listed above) should come with a free character conversion token.

All the 3 mentioned are the ones that come with the armoured mount, non-combat pet, grey combat bear, emotes and an ARMOUR CONVERTER.

It does seem It does seem rather mean to me that one of your existing Chars can look the part, ride the part but cannot make use of the exclusive bear without incurring an even larger expense.

@ZOS_GinaBruno , please get the Team to reconsider on this point.

That's a good point about the deluxe and collectors edition. If your paying that much money they should at least include a character slot.
I will end up paying $58 for the expansion (or 76$ if I want both slots) except I wont be getting any bonus items.

But if every store gives you something for free, except the one you're shopping from (free character slots are standard in the MMO industry), you feel a bit dirty doing business with them.

The only difference with stores is you can take your business elsewhere. It's harder to do that with MMOs since you invest substantial time and money into a single game, making a move to another one is very expensive.

Even EA gives free slots, the company that wants you to pay $ to be able to have hot bars, or be able to actually use your own in game items and money that you collected... gives free character slots with expansions.

Seriously, with the few that are at a max of 12 characters they will see it as justification of not giving giving a slot away for free.

Luckily I'm a business person too. One who just payed for something that I cannot fully utilise unless spending some more money on it.

So that's why I've cancelled my sub for the next 3 months to make up for that extra cost. Not that anything exciting happening within ESO these days anyway.

Not sure why anyone mentions 12 slots? We only get 8 slots for free and I'm pretty sure much more people using all of those. But if not there's even less reason to come it with this bad PR in front of the whole community, when the projected income from these extra slots is low anyway.

WoW and SW:TOR gave free characters at the old max level when they added content in the past. No reason why ZOS can't do the same.

Base slots is 8 which is enough for 1 magicka and stamina character of each class.

I am typically against people begging for free stuff simply because they can. However, in this case we're talking about something that could change the balance of character choices for many people, particularly those of us who are alt-a-holics. In this case I think a single slot as a gift would be appropriate in order to allow people who have already filled up their slots and weren't expecting a new class to be introduced to have a shot at this new content. After all, no one was warned that it might be a good idea to keep a slot free and some of us love each and every character we build.

At the very least, if we're not going to be offered a *free* extra slot we should at least be offered a 13th slot (or lower, if you don't have 12 yet) at a significant discount in the crown store. The important thing here is that a 13th slot should be made available.

Good point, it should most definitely include one. Zen should have plenty of revenue streams now as Chapters cost 40 euros every year too, yeah they kinda ninjaed the subs from us anyway. They should just stop the greediness, if they cant get it to work now, they just plain simply suck.

I only ask for 1 additional slot, considering the price of the expansion and the new class included.
