This is bound to have been suggested before but I think it is a timely suggestion for two reasons.
While I'm kind of happy about the announcement of the new warden class, it is less than we were promised. We were promised spellcrafting. We know from datamining that it would have included a number of nature themed spells which would have let people get their druid on. Probably like a lot of other players, I made characters in preparation for that time. They have great nature themed names. They're all level 50 and their horse grinds are well advanced.
So do I want to delete half my roster (warden is the only class which really interests me) and start them all from scratch? Not really. Even if they add class change to the crown store, since warden is my class of choice and it would be bound to have a hefty price, that would end up costing me a fortune.
The idea of paying ZO a fortune because they didn't deliver spellcrafting as promised and cut my favourite class from the game before launch doesn't sit well. If that were my only option I'd probably not buy it until a later time when it is massively discounted. As all things are if you're willing to wait.
Morrowind was a great game. It was an awesome game. Easily one of my favourites. But it wasn't just the location which made it special. It was the freedom to develop and play your character however you liked. The freedom to be a spellflinger, archer, bladeswinger etc. or some combination thereof. All you needed to do was invest the requisite time and or money in advancing those skills.
ESO seems married to its classes. Unfortunately. But they could drop a shrine into the game which allows players to change their class for a bit of gold. This feature launched with Morrowind would bring ESO significantly closer to the spirit of its hugely successful single player games.
Question
Would you like an in-game method (eg. a shrine where you pay gold) to change your class?
