Morag Tong in the new expansion?

Delte

Why isn't the Morga Tong a faction a player can join like the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood? Why isn't there a skill line either?

Why does it seem like Bethesda and ZOS are trying their hardest to remove all traces of this faction from their games and lore?

All we get is one character from this group and that is it?

I have a real dislike of the Dark Brotherhood as I see them as being clowns or comical and unprofessional assassins. I don't want my dunmer assassin to join this farce, so where are the real assassins in the game world?

Isnt assasin in Morrowind expansion trailer a member of morag tong ? Dont we get morag tong gear restyling as one of bonuses to pre ordered version? I think Morag Tong will be present in future expansion and it'll have it own part of story.

At this point in TES history, the Morag Tong is not as... 'fully functional' as it once was, or later becomes again.

According to Naryu the organization is "on the outs" though still employed by some of the houses.

Since there's possibilities for Morag Tong style armor coming up, maybe a Morag Tong skill line is in the works? I don't think we know all there is to know about what exactly is coming with Morrowind.

It's also possible that this focus on Naryu now is leading us to more Morag Tong specific content come the Q4 content update mentioned in the Road Ahead article.

If they were to offer one, depends on how they make it. Dark Brotherhood started as a Morag Tong splinter group.

Doubtful. Like they explained in the live stream for Morrowind... Although that main 3 houses are present they made it work so your weren't cornered to picking only one.

So in reading the wiki, the entire dragon knight class is essentially birth from the Blades.

The Morag Tong is an organization exclusive to Morrowind. They are also permitted to exist by Morrowind, where the Dark Brotherhood does not have permission from anyone to organize or operate.

In further contrast to the Dark Brotherhood, the Morag Tong carries out lawful "executions". The Morag Tong are incredibly strict about this, its members must work within tight bounds, and they do not tolerate unauthorized executions. So while they're basically assassins, they have different rules than the Dark Brotherhood, and don't work outside Morrowind (with rare exceptions).

As for why they haven't been joinable in ESO, One Tamriel was fairly recent, and it would have been odd to have a Morrowind-exclusive guild until now. The Dark Brotherhood, on the other hand, welcomes heartless, bloodthirsty murderers from all corners of Tamriel.

So are nightblades just a generic assasin class for the game? Or do they specifically come from some part of the lore like dragon knights do?

The Nightblades have been a generic asssassin magic rogue class since the days of Arena, whether they're a class you can select (like in Oblivion) or simply used to determine skill bonuses for NPCs (see Skyrim).

Nightblade is a class that existed in previous TES games. They are actually mages that use their magicks to enhance stealth and assassination, in contrast to the regular Assassin Class

Uh, they certainly are not. The Morag Tong does not have a lot of reach outside the Province of Morrowind.

But they have made appearances or have been mentioned in EVERY game since 3.

in morrowind, you had to become a member of Great House Hlaalu in order to join the Morag Tong.
the Morag Tong were basicly into some pretty serious criminal and illeagle stuff, they got thier "death writs" from a kind of shady but fully legal process, but it was still not truely considered a good House to be a member of. people were generaly scared of any one whom join the Moraag Tong.
in addition to that, it was only a short time after Todd Howard was hired and promoted in Bethesda that the "Dark Brotherhood was introduced, and, they were not joinable as a guild. the Dark Brotherhood only became joinable in Oblivion.

so, what you are accustom to today, is the reverce of what it was in the origonal TESIII before the introducing of Dark Brotherhood attacks on us.

This is why they a so much better than the dark brotherhood. I really want them in the game and now that we have Morrowind added to the game. I would join them quickly. If not in the expansion a dlc. I loved those guys in Morrowind. They had rules and class.

you are correct, which is why i made the thread asking for a true assassin class now with the launch of morrowind
and replace or create a new class that is true to the lore. and that can actually work as an assassin.

You can exactly join the Morag Tong ...in the Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. We don't know for sure if Morag Tong will be a guild your able to join until the expansion launches. If thats not the case I would think there would be quests done along side the guild not just with one assassin (the dumner girl in trailer). Like the Morag Tong and allies (us).

Maaaaybe... because they are predominantly a morrowind-based dunmer organization, and dunmer while being the best of all races are still only one of ten races in ESO, which kinda covers quite a bit more then merely morrowind in terms of regions?

I mean, its a bit similar like for the Ash'aba in the Alik'r... you do sort of "join" them, but get no skill line or anythng for it, and its never mentioned again after you complete that questline... because outside of that place, they don't really matter much. Or the Brackenleaf Briars in Grahtwood. And so on.

(Though I have to admit, I kinda prefer the Morag Tong to the Dark Brotherhood in structure... but then my main character secretly has a thing for Mephala, so... ;) )
