What he said apart from spriggan as crit is your life line, so NMG is a better option.

Vo can be reaplced for agility or you can even go the 386 weapon damage to dual weild ability set from darkshade cavern? which is super nice too!

You could also take out the agility/lekis sets and replace the jewelry slots and 2 armor with spriggans for the armor pen. Then use the other 5 pc set for something critty like NMG or hundings, and still use a monster head/shoulder. Much more efficient in terms of set bonuses.

To be clear, like crystal clear.

NMG is all the PEN you need in vMA on a stam sorc no more no less.

A lot of people do however run

4 TBS Body - 1 Weapon Dagger Sharpen
4 Spriggan 3 - ring/neck/1 piece body/ 1 Weapon Dagger Sharpen
2 Monster Helm

I find this disgusting as it gives no crit what so ever, on your 2 piece sets.

Remember Crit is your life line without it you're dead.

Yes, all medium. Unlike light armor builds, medium armor builds gain additional weapon crit for each piece of medium armor equipped. Light armor builds only gain a flat ~10% spell crit with 5 pieces of light armor equipped.

TBH, in my experience VMA is more (way) more about learning the mechanics than your gear setup. That said, here is my experience (I am a relative VMA noob with approximately 25 clears).

NMG was key for me. Switching from TBS to NMG provided noticeable uptick in performance. I paired NMG with Red Mountain for my first clear. A lot of people like Velidreth as the monster set to use and I used it for quite a while myself. Ultimately, though, I switched to Kahg and was more successful. That could just be a play style thing, who knows?

Once I had a decent number of clears under my belt, I took the time to get 5 pieces of Vicious Ophidian. VO provided a very large increase in performance/ease of completion. It is really remarkable what a difference VO made for me (and my jewelry are still only blue at this point).
