Will a i7 7700 and a 1070 make this game worth switching over to PC from X1?

So, I finally got the gpu (geforece 1070) for my computer I built this past fall, and I'm just curious what some of the mmo's I play look like and play like with the new card and 4k monitor.

Most of the PC games I have are MMO's, which I realize aren't really good uses of new cards, but its all I have to work with. I also play FFxiv on ps4 and pc, and got that game going in 4k, and it really made a huge difference (was annoying trying to supersize the UI) and the graphics looked great. GW2 is another that I have, but I've heard since its mainly based off of cpu, a newer card really won't make much of a difference. I also have played in the past Tera and Swtor, but i'd assume those are too old to make much of a difference.

Recently, I've been playing tons of eso on my X1, and really like the game. I was excited about the morrowwind announcement and a bst type new class. While I realize the game is not cross platform and I realize I would have to start from scratch, the game trailer really got me thinking about picking up the expansion and original game for PC. I know that will make a huge difference with add-ons and mods, but I was just curious if the graphics on ulta settings are a big upgrade over that of the x1.

It looks like for now, I'm just going to have to re-download my steam copy of original skyrim, and see if I can mod that into something pretty.

Thanks for any help and or advice.

I recently bought a GTX 1070. I play on ultra max settings with additional post-processing enhancements and get silky smooth frame rates everywhere, including Trials. And yes, console graphics vs maxed PC graphics make a HUGE difference.

ESO is mostly CPU-bound. A 1070 may or may not be good enough to deliver on 4k with everything set to Ultra, but my initial guess is on the "yes" side of the equation due to ESO not really needing all that much GPU power the vast majority of the time.

I find that even at lower GPU, ESO does solid frame rates. with 1070, I can only presume that you'll have smooth gameplay all throughout

I play with a GTX 1080 @ 4K and it maintains 60-100 FPS everywhere except the busiest towns (drops to the 40 fps range at times). That is on full Ultra settings, which looks a billion times better than anything on consoles. Since ESO is more CPU bound than GPU bound, even at the highest resolutions you should be ok even with a 1070.
Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.

Of course. This game came out in 2014. I get 60-100 fps on max settings with a GTX 970 and i5 6600.
