Is gear cap going to be raised in Morrowind Expansion / DLC ?

This is the question. Is gear cap going to be raised in Morrowind Expansion / DLC ?

Current gear cap is CP 160. Is that going to be changed or raised to something else (example CP 180 , CP 200 etc ) ?
I ask because I need to know if I can grind items safely without worrying of those items becoming obsolete when the gear level will be raised (if it will be raised).

There are already a lto of rumours about this.

We need to know.
Is this going to happen ?
And if it does happen then what will happen to all current CP160 gear. Is it going to be automatically converted to "new" highest CP level or it will simply become obsolete.

Some official ZOS statement would be nice.

    Really?

Three threads already, one of which I am certain you have posted in, and you need to start a new thread?

If they raise the cap I doubt they will raise all 160 gear. You will probably need to start grinding it over again.

If they raise the gear cap, I along with a huge portion of people will quit this game. it is a horrible business decision if they want this game to go forward

No need to quit game, they should simply give option to upgrade gear to new gear level..

Or just upgrade all owned CP 160 gear automatically to the new "higher" gear cap.

What exactly would that accomplish? 160 gear in a world with 160 content cap is exactly the same at 180 gear in a 180 content cap world. If they increase the weapon cap and content cap while upgrading all your old weapons, they have done nothing at all. If they raise the gear cap without raising our current gear, it's a step backward. In no way do players win at all with a cap increase. It's not necessary. It's not mandatory. It will see players quit. Why bother?

Sorry but don't understand why we would need a gear cap increase

Dont worry! They will give you an easy way to upgrade. See there will be these upgrade tokens. They will be split in to 7 parts. And will drop from any overland mob... so just collect 7 parts make a token and upgrade one piece of you equipment! See? Easy!

Or you could just buy the upgrade token on the store...

    Good times are ahead...

Currently "highest" gear is CP 160. It is the highest level gear available in the game. It is not only CP 160. it is the BEST level of gear you can get. If they will increase the item level cap there are 2 things that can happen:

    1. CP 160 (because it is the highest level gear) will be converted to new highest level (example CP 180). You will not have to grind again to get unique gear - because all CP 160 you own will became (example) CP 180.
    2. All CP 160 gear will become obsolete, making it pointless and you will have to grind & craft ALL gear all over again
(1000 hours +) - This is the place where most players will probably quit. And furthermore - not use ESO + ever again...

MMOs raise caps to keep people busy. What's the point of raising it if they're going to upgrade our gear anyway?

Because if you know that the time you spent on grinding this gear is going to be wasted, Then you will simply stop grinding.
