So.. Morrowind is $40 for ESO+ subscribers because it's an "expansion"

Putting aside the fact that labeling Morrowind as an "expansion" so it's not included in ESO+ reeks of duplicity -

I've already used my crowns to buy previous DLC as it came out, so really the only thing I'm using ESO+ for is the crafting bag.
Not really needed as I have thousands of most mats and don't need to collect more.

Six months of my ESO+ sub that ZOS won't get x 2 accounts totals up to $180
I'll probably buy the DLC if it's $40. One account only. Net loss to ZOS $140.

Brilliant business decision.

You subs get all the DLCs for free and a craft bag. And a little XP bonus. We non-subs get nothing! This time it's not the subs way so sorry

Yes. This is EXACTLY where I am! I currently have a 6mo sub running, and it will be up this time around at about expansion release time. So, instead of re-upping the sub, I will simply buy the Morrowind 'expansion'. Thus, saving myself about $30 this year, and $150 next year. And yeah, don't need the Craft Bag anymore, and will use mules for stuff I want to save.

So, not the most brilliant of moves, IMHO. It penalizes your most loyal players and encourages them to dump their subscriptions.

No need to be sorry.. ZOS lost money in my case.

Hell they probably are losing money in your case, too, unless they got a visit from the server and bandwidth fairy.
I think the only question is, how many ESO+ members will follow my example.

Technically, they didn't call Morrowind an expansion, they don't like that term, they basically are calling it a completely new game... hence the reason they also have a new tutorial for new characters as well. You don't need ESO to play Morrowind and you don't need Morrowind to play ESO... BUT... you can connect them together for an even greater experience.

I'm sure ESO will continue to receive updates as will Morrowind, we'll know more about what's in store for ESO itself when the 'Road Ahead' is published.

40$ for a new zone, class, battlegrounds, dungeons and trial?... BLASPHEMY!!!!

Sorry, but I am sure most of us spend that much a month on coffee. I am an ESO+ member since the game was released on PC. I will not follow you.

This. Children wanting more free *** then they already get. Expansions like this are always a paid thing. Morrwind is going to be the size it was in TES3, ffs. QQ moar, it's worth it by a longshot.

can one buy thieves guild and play the game?
can one buy dark brotherhood and play the game?
can one buy shadows of the hist and play the game?
can one buy ESO One tamriel and play the game?
can one buy ESo Morrowind and play the game?

Seems to me, two of these things are not like the other four on a very solid fundamental level.

Build a bridge to Vvardenfell and get over it.

I've continuously subbed since day 1 and I've happily put in a pre-order for Morrowind.

And this might also not be the Q2 Update, hinted at by Gina.

You need to buy Expsnsions in WoW. As well as sub.

FF XIV? Sub and expansions extra.

You needed to buy GW2: HoT to continue the story.

Like every other mmo.

The only thing I'm a little perplexed about is I obviously missed the part where $1=£1. I appreciate the arse has fallen out the £ in recent months, but even with VAT and all that *** $40 doesn't equal £40. Shipping costs? Where do they park the shipping container when delivering to the likes of Steam, PSN and LIVE?

Um, no? Where did you hear that? Morrowind is an expansion of ESO, not a separate game. It will fill the gap in the Tamriel map. People will choose whether to buy that or not, but it will still be ESO.
