Weapon traits after switching bar.

Let's say you have a desto staff with sharpened on bar1. You cast a damage over time spell, like wall of elements. Does the penetration apply during the whole duration of the skill even if you swith to secondary bar with another trait, or does the dot get the effects of the trait currently equipped after you switch?
The same goes for penetrating magic passive. Does the effect stay even after switching?
Just curious. Anyone know?

Reorx_Holybeard✭✭✭✭✭For the most part I believe the game uses the stats (spell damage, magicka, etc...) and penetration of the bar you are currently on for DoTs. That's why a non-sharpened weapon is fine on the back bar but not on your main bar.Reorx Holybeard -- NA/PC
