Meteor self empowers. The empower only affects the initial hit.
Without Might of the Guild, Ice Comet does 2901 on hit and DoTs tick for 840. Light attack damage before and after is 584.
With Might of the Guild, Ice Comet does 3469 on hit and DoTs tick for 840. Light attack damage before and after is 584. Thus Ice Comet empowers itself.
If I were instead to use a Mages' Guild ability before Ice Comet like Equilibrium to gain the Empower beforehand, Ice Comet still does 3469 on hit and DoT ticks of 840. Light attack damage before Equilibrium and after Ice Comet is 584.

For example, using maelstorm one handed weapons will empower your dual wield ultimate.
And again you spread you BS over the forum....
Maelstrom Weapons DO empower DW ultimate, same as they empower dawnbreaker for example.
To explain how the maelstrom dagger and axe enchantment actually works one has to know what ZOS means, when talking about singel target dot.
Their definition is the following:
If a DoT is applyed to a character rather than an area it is a single target DoT.
This means Liquid Lightning, Elemental Wall, Volley and other ground based DoTs do not count as single target DoTs.
However the DW Ultimate or the Dawnbraker, even so they are an AoE ability, are considered single target DoTs as their DoT component sticks to the character it was applied to and does not affect characters entering the AoE zone after the skill was cast.
And now @AzuraKin go home and leave this forum for good. Thx!

yet your statement defies hard logic. i did not go oh maelstrom says boosts single target dot by x weapon and spell power must not apply to dw ultimate, i actually went in and ran it in a rotation specific to using the ultimate with the maelstrom buff and seeing if it boosted the damage. it did not boost the damage multiple times attempts at boosting the ultimate with the maelstrom enchants. but than that is probably the difference between you and i. you say something is possible because someone tells you, i on the other hand actually test things for myself, run add-ons to visually check what is going on, and make informed decisions based on real time data.

I actually DID test it myself... And i can't imagine that YOU would have any maelstrom weapons to actually test this nor the patience to go on PTS and create a character and test it there.
So how is that for actually data:
(Hint it is the fifth ability from the top)

lol, been to maelstrom, beat it, got bored of it, now wait for something to come out that challenges me again.
and for patience? dude i am very patient, i have 8 toons that i methodically train EVERY SINGLE SKILL regardless of intent to use it, and every morph.
Ha I had the same thoughtYou guys are adorable.

That data is old, you CANNOT empower meteor in live(same with curse, sub/fissure, PL/PotL)
