The past 10 months every night I do PUG pledges, only 2 times formed guild group before, and there was one day me and a friend PUGed together. I HAVE SEEN IT ALL AND IN ALL COMBINATIONS!! From the DD that pretends to be a tank/healer to the healer pretending to dps, wait what, yes I've even seen the "tank" healing with a resto staff slotted.

Back on PS4 release I too was a noob, when my first character hit VR1, boy was I rejoiced only to find out I'm useless in vet dungeons, to the point were I almost quit ESO for good. Did a lot off research and reading, got my head together and L2P.

I started normal pledges WHEN I WAS CP280, normal ones. I got blamed for only aoe dps, no dps and wait for it: PULLING THE AGRO AWAY FROM TANK, ON NON TANKable BOSS, whahahahaha and that was my queue to leave. But for the first time I felt I was contributing rather than a strain on group/healer. Got kicked once because group think I was a girl after they saw my characters name, Tesla. Like wtf, there are girl players out there that will kick any boys arse, but that's off topic. Since then I've done pledges everyday, last 4 month trails as well. This year started vet trials. Yes I'm cp561(608) but these days who is not ;)

Because I PUG I get to see various groups and their strategies in both dungeon and trials. I used to give advice in advance for the lower lot, but I've learned players are more willing to listen after 1 or 2nd wipe, if at all!! Like last night on my healer in nWGT, after 1st wipe, I told group that : "the one with the gray/white screen must close the portals, only you can do it, close portals = no mobs coming out!" Instant face palm when I got reply: "portals?" I just said replied: yes. After 3rd wipe from portals spewing enemy after enemy 1 dd left as I said above again. I had to leave when I got reply: "yes we know" and I was thinking to myself, if you know then why are you not doing it. So yeah sometimes pugging is a lot of work for my poor healer and overworked blistered mag sorc.

Anyway long story short and this is my honest opinion. I have more fun with capable cp250-450 than any other cp group!! By this I mean we kill all mobs and bosses, get all loot, chests and the hair raising, tong biting close calls, boy I guess that is why PUGGING is fun. The lower cp's either don't have the skill set, power, knowledge or all of these. The higher cp's run past all only killing bosses and even complain when you stop to unlock a (advance/master) chest?? I've notice there is way more finger pointing the higher the cp, but also more ignorance the lower the cp. Like someone pointed out in the thread, you have to work with the hand dealt to you.

You should put them on your holiday card list, because they likely did you a favor. You might still be in there fighting her if the DPS couldn't outpace the heal channel of the last boss.

I recently converted my Stam Sorc DPS to do tanking just for fun. She can do all non-DLC vet dungeon with ease and with fair bit damage. DLC/trail will use my proper StamDK tank.

Okay, on Saturday, I did a PUG run into vet Direfrost as tank. With 1 Healer just aboved 300 CP, 1 DPS 192CP and another DPS about 100 CP. I didn't want to tell them they are too low for this dungeon and decided to give them a try.

Okay, long story short. We finished first boss, group DPS 29K and I was doing 45% of group DPS as tank while holding the taunt of boss. 2DPS + healer only did about 16K dps. I told them, with this dps, it will be hard work at last boss, and highly likely not able to pass.

Then silent, no one replied to me.

I said, We need better dps.

And then I got kicked out from the group.

Now I know why people complain about PUG, LOL.

Moral of this story is that if you see a bunch of super low CP non guildies. Don't even say anything, just abort and leave. That 15 minutes would be better spent farming mats. Rather then struggling thru a dungeon with people who are, not only under leveled, and under geared, but are also more then likely jerks. Reasons like this is why I no longer PUG. ZOS made PUGing for the most part a completely miserable experience. I actually stop blaming the players and started blaming the mechanics of the Group Finder.

There is no way ZOS should be allowing sub CP 160 players to queue for DLC Veteran dungeons. There should be no reason sub lvl 15 players should be able to queue up for normal DLC dungeons. Also it's my firmest belief that as a DLC owner you should have the option to turn DLC dungeon random queue off or on. It makes no sense for DLC owners to be punished for owning extra paid content.

So, the flip side to this little anecdote:

I've been in groups before where people complain about others not being up to par just before they leave or get booted, then we go on to complete the dungeon without a hitch after they are replaced.

When the first DLC dungeons came out, I said they shouldn't be in pledge queue because of this.

They sort of "fixed" that, but they will never do what you are proposing. Why? Because they want to sell the DLC's even to brand new players. They don't mind if they are ready for the content or not, sales numbers are all that count.

Edit: And about DLC owners being "punished", that goes both ways. The newbies own the DLC too, so they are being punished for not being able to do the content with low CP.

Why do nubcakes enter the vet dungeons below 160? It's pointless.

People often complain on here of people fake que as tank and healer, not fulfilling their roles.

But no one says why are there so many fake DPS que? By this I mean people who que as DPS but don't actually do any.
Their DPS is pitiful and atrocious: no rotation, no solid gear, no knowledge, no nothing apart from their scrubiness. Oh and best part here: they're ALWAYS the first to blame healer, tank and everyone except themselves with their sub 10k DPS. I'm always last to vote kick and try resolve the issues (but as a tank/healer in certain dungeons you can't carry bad DPS)... the scrubby DPS they always cause trouble and vote kick, then occasionally create a thread on here complaining about #Puglife

To op I know it sucks and as a tank/healer I've been in situations just like you before, they'll never learn unfortunately...
On my DPS I can carry them through my high damage normally although on certain dlc dungeons it's best to kick the bad DPS and get a better one in.
