Crafted Gear Prices

Lately I have been around asking people to craft me a 5x medium set of Hunding's Rage(since my traits are going slow). And the prices were very high. One person told me 10k for a set, and another one for 3k per piece + 3k for specific motif. I thought having the mats will make the price go down. Are these reasonable prices or am I just poor?

EDIT: Added sentence about mats

Yes, the prices will be lower if you deliver the mats if you dont deliver the mats prices will be higher. :)

3k per pieces is not so much.

Well crafted gear is supposed to be powerful. I mean it takes months, if not years to get full 9-traits, but recently 9-trait gear isn't as strong as it's supposed to be and thus their value is dropping.

I would still pay 10k per 9-trait piece without arguing, but slowly their value is decreasing.

Complete strangers I charge 5k a piece, their mats. If they only want 1 piece then it's 10k minimum. My prices are that way because I don't need the gold, I need my play time. So when I give someone my price it's just me doing them a favor but also compensating my own time in the process.

Sometimes people find me from the forums and I craft free for them too as long as they got mats. Guildies free as well so I recommend you join a guild. I've had 2 strangers in the past pay me 100k for a set. Not sure who told them that price tag but they both straight up offered 100k and with their mats lol

I had my TBS set crafted for 2k :) I was really surprised to see a 9 trait set that low.

Depends on the crafter. I charge 1k per piece for less than 8 traits then 1.5k a piece for 8 traits and up. I don't craft often so I dont really mind lower prices.

When someone in text chat goes " need crafter I have mats" , I won't even bother replying cause I assume they don't wanna pay anything.

Depending on what quality you're asking for, while handing over the mats, those could be entirely reasonable.

I still remember running across someone in zone trying to buy level 20 gold gear for something like 5k, last year. For reference, a single gold weapon had a rough material cost of 50k.

If you're looking at a 10k purchase and saying, "yeah, that's really expensive," then, yes, you're probably poor. No offense intended.

In this case you are paying for the time, dedication and skill of the crafter. Not everyone will have spent the time and effort to research the traits needed for sets. Consider how many points they have also invested in their trade, points that could have been invested elsewhere.

As the Goblins of WoW say: Time is money, friend.

If you are rare crafting material rich, but gold poor, you may inquire if the crafter would be willing to accept an extra quantity of rare tannins of equivalent value in exchange for their services.

These prices look reasonable to me.

You're asking someone to stop doing whatever they were doing, travel to some remote place, with loading screens and walking time, sometimes even fighting mobs, write down your order, verify the quantity of mats you provided, craft and send. That's at least 30 minutes time. That's worth 10K imho. That's what I charge too : 10K per travel (regardless of how many pieces), mats being provided by customer.

3k per piece plus 3k if you want style from Akaviri/Alliance styles and onwards -AND- you provide materials.

That's my price, guildie or non-guildie.

See, I love gold but I don't realy need more now, even with the humongous gold sink Homestead will be.

I'm stopping whatever I'm doing to attend your needs and my extra fee for specific styles comes from cost a lot of time and, for some, money, to gather them by myself or searching the best price for sell.

The LoL button is gone, but you can still explain to me how you :
1/ communicate with customers, discuss price, get the details of the order and receive the mats
2/ check said mats to see if everything's there - it usually isn't
3/ relog to your crafter (including loading screens)
4/ travel to the crafting station (including loading screens + walking + fighting mobs)
    5/ craft the gear
    6/ send it to customer
    8/ arrange payment
9/ travel back to your original place (including loading screens) and relog to your original character (including loading screens) to resume whatever you were doing.

all this in less than 30 minutes. I'm all ears.

It's funny...I only charge 1k per item plus your mats...and extra for some harder to get / more expensive styles...

..and still get told sometimes, I charge too much :o

    It's entirely subjective...3k is fine :)

(in fact, after reading this, I may start charging more)

    I craft for free.

My main is crafter. so no relog. If somebody wants something i told them to send everything via mail including description. Its not so hard to count as I know how many mats you need per piece. Technically they send me just 3 kinds of items, 4 tops - material, trait and style material, its no so hard to check if everything is included - it take literally 5 seconds. That fourth kind of item is upgrade mat - Im upgraiding up to blue for free, but most ppl want just white items. I know where most exposed and desired stations are, so no need to check google for it. I can be at that station within two minutes after recieving mail and checking everything is there. Craft and upgrade items takes like 3 minutes. Replying to customers mail and send back items take like one minute - 6 minutes total. I dont see how you can spent half hour while crafting few items.

Best way to go ask a guild member to craft for you. They'll usually craft it for free if you supply the matts. Tip them for their time which is all they're out. 5-10k depending on your choice.
