Raise interactions at fences

KimberlyannKitsuragi
For me personally 140 a day max is too low. I feel like 400 sounds good :) I find it really frustrating having to limit it.

Also I finished the TG quest line and I'm at TG 11. No dailies are helping raise it to 12. Is this a bug?

Being the last rank you'd suspect it'd take the longest to earn. Are you doing the Heists?

Don't quote me but I think you have to do the specisl quests in the theives den that pop up as your rank increases? Main TG NPCs I'm talking about

It's not likely to be raised any higher because of people that farm stolen gear. Reaper's March, the carnival area, has a lot of friendly NPC's that I've seen people farm before to gather all the stolen gear. Right now, the limit is the only thing restricting this very annoying farm.

I maxed the line tonight! I still think they need to raise the cap on interactions though

It is fine. The cap is so someone is not making 200k gold per day. It is set at a reasonable place. If you ant more then do it on multiple characters.

I could do with a raise, but just so it's a round number. The 140 thing bugs me.

I think it could be raised a little, especially if they want to encourage thief style gameplay.

The worry however is how easy one can make money with some methods of farming should the cap be removed. There are methods (unless removed now) to farm hundreds of items to fence. The cap as annoying as it is currently limits how much gold can be injected into the game each day.

I hear you, thieving is my main source of income, I can make about 20k each day in less than an hour doing my sprees. More when doing perfect Heists and Sacraments and selling the motifs. Sometimes I'm almost tempted to make more characters and train their legerdemain and thieves guild ranks just so I can do it more often :P

@Robo_Hobo would you be able to say what your income from directly fencing goods is? As this method is a gold faucet whilst the selling of motifs is just moving gold around the game.

If increasing the amount you can sell per day increases the income too much that would be detrimental to the games economy.

Hell no. I'm a thief myself, but I think that current cap is enough. If you want to earn money, stop stealing junk and focus on good stuff. If you only sell items that cost between 40-250 you can easily pull off 18k within that 140 items limit It just takes some more effort.

Pickpocketing quests, when you end with about 30 things and 20 have base value of 40 gold... Anyways, destroying 20 "hard earned" things is sad.

150 cap would mean you can do 5 pickpocket quests and not destroy anything. Also 150 is more OCD friendly.

With 140 cap it seems fine. I am able to earn 9 000 - 13 000 gold in 30 min - 1 hour (RNG dependent) per character (daily). And it seems fine. Increasing the cap further will also increase the grinding time (more items to sell = more time spend on stealing them).

btw. 150 cap could also be good. What I am rather thinking is to increase the base values of stolen items slightly
    (example 40 gold -> 50 gold).

That's true, that's a good and valid point. If they ever do increase it they would have to keep that in mind. At least, we'll also have some new money sinks in the game quite soon with housing.

Anyway, the amount of gold I've made from fencing is apparently 380k. According to the achievements tab in progress toward Black Market Mogul. I hope to get that achievement soon. :P

I think this is logical the idea but increasing should only occur if you've unlocked the assistant who perhaps at the reduction cut should accept 35% more items per day.

I think the 140 limit is fine. At the current cap, it takes a dedicated thief about an hour / hour and a half to basically print 10-20k gold. Raising the cap means thieves will have to be out there longer each day to hit cap... that's not a bad thing, since it's a big source of income for a lot of us... but it is taking away from our time that we can actually play the game. As it is, there are some days where I log in, and all I have time to do is my thieving.

You know what else raising the cap might mean? More assassins killing our pickpocket targets as they farm up to the same caps. :p

...I was about to say how that would take longer to farm the same amount of gold as you'd get at a normal fence, so it's not really worth it. But then, I realized that the convenience of the assistant would mean that you could farm places that didn't have fences nearby. An interesting idea... it would certainly allow us to spread out a bit more.

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

I don't necessarily think the 140 limit is too low (although I would like it to be at 150 for the same reasons that I presume @Silver_Strider wants it at 150 instead of 140), but I do think it's very strange the way the limit progresses with each skill point that you put in it.

1st skill point = freaking massive increase in the limit.
2nd and subsequent skill points = small increase in the limit.

For that reason most of my characters have 1 skill point in it, and I'm not sure I've bothered to go beyond that with any of them. It just doesn't seem worth it.

I always thought it weird that we start out at 50, then it jumps to 120, then 130 then 140. One would think 50, 80, 110, 140 or something like that.
