How would you change housing (aimed at those who think it useless)?

I would like some form of storage... I find the attunable crafting stations to be really useful, and have placed ALLOT of them in one of the houses on pts which is very convenient, but perhaps being able to buy/craft some small mundus stones could be cool and add to the convenience! I would also like the option to be able to grow alchemy ingredients in my garden

I don't believe that any bonuses, xp or otherwise, should come from anything you have inside of your home, because it would put some people who don't have much gold (or money irl) at a disadvantage, but seeing as everyone has access to a house, with one being obtainable through a quest, some sort of boost or something from going home could be cool

    Initial subtle changes/adjustments:
    1. Housing would be the purchase of a plot of land vs a completed home (think of Skyrim)
    2. The crafting plans would be for rooms moreso than furniture
    3. Furniture would instead be BoP or BoE from the world, dungeons, writs, etc.
    4. Attuned crafting stations would be one station with the option to add multiple sets (not all but more than one or two)
    5. Plots would be for sale in the crown store only, not completely furnished homes
    6. Some furniture would be part of crafting a room (similar to Syrim but not exact)

    BIG change here:
    1. The existing phased homes would stay as one home type
    2. For guilds who want a true guild house, I'd actually have a zone for these

    Guild House Zone:
-These houses would also come as a plot, largely aligned with the above 6 ideas
-The zone however would also have instanced or phased homes but in this design it would seem like a more social area

    Purpose:
-Offer traders using the same share features coming
-offer more space for guild members but less items so to speak that seem to contribute to the limit of 24 player max in a manor. These homes would allow 50 members but no more than 100
-It would have different neighborhoods using the themes we see today but where there would be possible 50-100 different homes per theme
-There would also be social gathering areas outside of the homes like a neighborhood welcome center so to speak

    edit...Storage:
-Absolutely has no place in this in terms of what exists in the game today
-The only storage that would align with housing are items that are placed in the house.

Using my ideas above this would only relate to constructed items, furniture and once created move to another bag like the crafting bag. OR.....just remove the subtraction of inventory and all is fine. Meaning, housing items created take 0 inventory spots cause they move to the housing UI and stay there always.

    just my thoughts

I have an idea for how to do the housing storage and I think this will make furniture usefull. All houses will have a shared inventory, which you will be able to access from some your furniture.
They will have builtin filters, chests will show all items, cupboards will only show your food, crates and boxes will show your furniture, armor and weapon stands will show your armor and weapons (which you will be able to equip to them form their inventory), you will be able to equip books to bookcases from their inventory...
An npc will sell you inventory space for gold or crowns (like the npc who upgrades your bag space) and it will be gated behind your first house of each type (up to 10 for free room, 20 for your first appartment ...).
    Sorry for my English.

Let's start with the obvious: a place to hang your hat (storage).

    "Hi honey, I'm home!"

"Uh, is there anywhere I can hang my hat, take off my coat?"

"Why can't I lay down for a quick nap?"

"Sheesh, can I at least sit down??"

Are beds interactive like chairs? Can u just click on a bed and get an XP buff for logging out while sleeping? That would make some logical sense and more immersive gameplay. What do you think @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_KaiSchober @ZOS_GinaBruno ?

Instanced neighborhoods or actual plots of land throughout the game to be bought and built from the ground up in whatever style home you want.

The option to sell or destroy house.

    Storage

    Less grindy

Having your home be able to get raided - being able to defend and build against this.

Options to retire characters on selection screen to make them statues for decaration.

So many other things come to mind. Wonder why ZOS decided to be lazy on this one. Shouldn't of expected anything more tbh just look at the game as a whole it's completely broken.

Makes me wonder why ZOS won't use some of that money from those crown crate purchases to upgrade the performance. I guess the Xmas bonuses were fat.

    • Storage - nuff said
    • Stable hand - obvious - riding lessons
    • Prospect/Recruit - Eager rookie tied to NPC" guild class of "dailies" (undaunted delves and pledges, mages dungeons and consumable writs, fighters dolmens and equip writs, TG dailies inc WB/delves, DB dailies inc Wb/delves) that can serve as start-up and turn-in right there in the house.
    • Repair Station - Can do you own gear repair for gold.
    • Courier - Guild bank and guild store access for your guilds.
    • Shrines - functional respec shrines and marriage shrines
    • Guild merchant - Tied to one guild store cluster like say Windhelm or Mournhold - allows you to buy from them as if you were there - accessing each vendor in turn.
    • Wardrobe/Gear Stands - place an entire gear setup plus potions and food onto stand and be able to swap into/out of it immediately while in home. Might include skills slotted setup - but not respec.
    • Functioning Node: Garden or Dig or Animal Pens or Woods or Pond/Fishing hole or Rune Cluster - basically a daily "hireling" type function

i dont want a tactical benefit or even an experience one but let me use the house to save playtime on the "bookkeeping" by not having to travel for the many hundredth time to get my daily pledge from someone - let me get it at home and then have togo to the delve/dungeon/boss etc.

I want the ability to display the actual items I have picked up in the game.

Armor mannequins. Weapon racks. Shield mounts. Display cases for Trophies. Somewhere to put all the neat nicknacks I've stolen and chosen to launder instead of fence (because who doesn't want an "ossified bull member" in their house?).

Crafting new stuff do display is fine, but I want to display the things I've found in my adventures. If you can't give me that, you don't have a valid housing system.

I know that everybody wants storage. They said that it did not make the 'finally cut'. That tells me that it will be added at some future time. When they add it I hope they put in options so that you can tell who may deposit into or withdraw out of the storage chest.

    1. Manaquins, I'd love to drop off a set and pick up another easily. I was thinking about swapping my sorcs for a couple of weeks to bring all there skills to 50 but then it seemed to annoying and a hassle, swapping armour. I eventually will have a DPS Templar but might want him to heal through undaunted I'd like to borrow my healers set. I might want to tank on a sorc but my DK has the good gear etc.

    2. Plaques for weapons to display, I really want to hang up my spc bow and resto red mountain as part of my shrine to rngesus I have planed. Also want a small house to just fill with my useless maelstrom weapons I've been saving - I was disappointed this could not happen.

3 an assistant to train your horse and gather related stuff I.e occasional heartwood, Nickle basically housing stuff.

    4. Pets moving my cat gets in from of my TV and headbuts my controller - the eso ones are more like taxidermy samples

5 a lock box for a small number of stolen items even say 5 because sometimes for example you might accidentally drop a meteor in stone falls incur a huge bounty but want a couple of looted items safe from the law.

6 A DPS dummy that applies a dot to you to test DPS in sets that require you being damaged to proc. or a small amount of cone shaped damage to help time dodge, interrupt and block. A lot of new people I'd love to take them to use dummyto teach what to do.

    7. A toilet, we seem to have sewers but no toilets -that's really odd
PS4 EU 1200+ cp - I enjoy RP, Housing, PVE and PVP

What kind of storage? Would you mind if it was purchased daily on a timer like for mounts? Offered in the Cash Shop in a later update? Are you saying you only want display storage to show off armor/weapons like we had in Skyrim? How much storage are you asking for? Are you asking to get a craft bag? Or do you just want dressers, cabinets, and closets to have five extra inventory spaces? TALK IN A WAY THAT MAKES SENSE TO A GAME DEV. Elaborate and stop spitting out tiny little child like sentences. You have all taken up a chant, "Give us storage, give us storage..." but you don't really care if you get it because you are not being specific enough to look like you care. It looks like you just want to participate in a mob mentality. So if the devs give you the wrong kind of storage you can yell at them some more. Seriously you don't want to work with ZOS you just want yell at someone.

Will add symbolic price (this is a free DLC they said) and a real functionality: herb garden, chest with hierling's resource packages, house vendors, special house warehouse for Items you no need right time (something like safe box), integred provisoning station (every house need a kitchen), free decorations obtained by achievements (not for tons of gold), kustomization capability and many other stuff.

I would gladly buy home storage even if it were crown store exclusive, if it were reasonably priced. That means about 10 crowns/slot or less. ATM I can buy 200 slots for 1500 crowns and 200K in game gold by making a bank character - most of those won't remain like this forever, and they will eventually become active characters, usually after I fully train their riding skills.

I would think that practicality would be the mainstay of housing. In every game I've played with housing, including SP games, there was storage. OK, the bank is already account wide, why can't it be added to housing? It doesn't require an NPC, if they haven't figured out how to put things in a chest, they can just copy/paste the NPC's dialog to a chest to open the bank. As it stands right now, it's just the Sims in Tamriel. I won't be spending crowns on a house that doesn't do anything. I can grab one of the houses with a courtyard for crafting, so I don't get lost trying to find the crafting stations, although that probably won't work for me, since I can get lost anyway, but w/out storage in the house, crafting for alts is better done in the world anyway, since I'll have to hit the world for a bank. Not much incentive to get very excited about it.

Ffxiv has airships ( way out of eso lore ) but they need things to keep ppl busy and keep them going back to there estate .. I would say..
    STORAGE is a must..
Maybe real gatherers for all crafts so you can send them out on missions once every day or week and they bring back a load of mats rng of course ..
Fish ponds or tanks as such that can be displayed would put better use to fishing skills ..
Gardening plots that need to be watered so you can grow certain plants for sale or use in recipes..
