We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

How much time does it take to make a new style?

Just saw the Dro-m'Athra motif in crown store for 6000 crowns.
Just wondering how long it actually takes to make and design a new style in the game due to these prices. Are they overpriced or is it a reason for this?
This is not a crown store complain thread.

Depends, if you rely on the Farming of others, the compelete motifs can be found with an hour or two of searching, depending on how close to motif release this is. It just costs a lot of gold, as new motif chapters can be upwards of 100,000 or more each. Most drop to the 3K to 6K range after a few months, although the more popular ones seem to stick in the 20K range for a while. (PC/NA Pricing)

Then there are the Style Mats, those always seem to be the harder things to find, but again, you can buy them in Guild Kiosks for upper 3 to lower 4 figures each. Or, use Crown Mimic Stones and bypass that aspect.

So, you got lots of gold, it takes an hour or two to learn a new motif. You want to do it in game, it can take weeks or months.

Thanks :) I ment more from zenimax point of view, how much time they personally spend on designing and programming a motif like this.

I think she means how long it takes a DEV to make it, not a player to complete it?

Well, thats a good question actually.
Seeing all those weird bugged models and the fact that some of the models look very different from concept art (and not in a good way - compare this and this for example), I dont think that they invest too much in all this visual stuff. Why is it still relatively expensive (compared to DLCs)? Because people still buy it.

Well it's not new so for this...the time it took to meet on it and draw the crown store artwork

What concerns me are the drastically inflated prices or the amount and frequency of items which cause you to spend $39 or more each month

It's been pointed out that the crown store drastically exceeds what a subscriber accumulates even if you occasionally buy in the crown store.

I'm at a point now where I just spent 10k to try and be open but I'd be dang if they didn't throw a 6k item in

Then you also see crown crates and this is within that them kinda but excluded.

So the exp Scrolls, the motif, the hair, costumes just from Christmas till now (30 day period) and only buying a few items would actually cost over 10k in crowns.

No you don't have to or need to spend that much and it's not about offering choices and variety cause I'm pointing out limited time items only or items only gained by gambling.

I really need to find a new game.
How is Black Desert Online in terms of an alternative if I'm gonna spend $30/month anyways?

And so it begins. I'm assuming this is the first ever item to appear in the CS that is priced more than the largest crown pack? Warming up nicely for the housing.

It will go something like this "OMFG, you entitled little brat. 30k crs are nothing when they're selling one motif for 6000crs"

Yea, I reread your question. Call me Going off on Tangent....

Ironically though, I bet my time frames are not that far off. Based on the way skins were done on mods for the stand alone games, it could takes hours to weeks to make a new style from scratch. Sometimes its nothing more than a change of the skin texture, sometimes its more the underlying structure and frame that is adjusted. I imagine it would come down to how much clipping they encounter with the gee gaws and appendages the armors have.

    @Prof_Bawbag

    Well yes and no.
Some say that ESO plus bundles should be considered. (Does apply to Xbox one tho)

It's the first 6k item tho and seemingly a f u to many cause it's positioned between 5500 and 750 on Xbox one.
