When connecting to a trial? Does the first person in influence the connection?

Seems like we either connect to the first player in, or do we all connect individually? I have a great connection but if Australian people are on NA server seems to lag my game a lot in a trial.

    Yes, all games do this for the most part.
    Path of Exile, World of Warcraft, etc.

    Generally it will either use the hosts node, in this case NA.
    Or it will try to find a happy median for both of you (more uncommon)
