Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

The houses are nice but you can't sleep in the beds. Come on?

I was disappointed by this too.

As long as there's nothing above the bed, like a canopy or another bed, you can stand on it and then use the sleep emote, but it's not the same.

Hopefully this is something they'll add in future.

Might not be in release but this could always be something they work on for later iterations an updates. If enough people are interested in it maybe they'll devote the developer time to it.

Would be neat to get some kind of well rested buff from it as well, would add a mechanical benefit to owning a house.

The ability to sleep animation on your canopied bed should be included NOW. Omg who is making these horrible decisions

Would be cool if you get some kind of well rested buff from it, maybe an XP boost, otherwise there wouldn't be much point.

I think that they might need some mechanical benefits from housing for some players to take it seriously. Maybe something like logging out in your house whilst sitting/sleeping giving a kind of rested XP as akin to other games.

Although most people who wanted the mechanics would just use the free housing and sleep in the cheapest bed for the buff.

In this wonderful modern politically correct world of today, sleeping is all we'll be able to do in bed here at ESO ;)

I want to be able to eat in bed. I have to give housekeeping something to clean up!

That first post might well not be sarcasm. The canopied beds are much more expensive than normal ones but because there isn't enough space to stand on top of the bed you can't even use the /sleep emote like you can with the cheaper ones. You're literally paying more for less functionality.

Also I agree that there should be some kind of benefit to logging out in your house. Maybe they could make it scale with the houses? So for example a free inn room gives a 1% buff, an apartment gives 2%, small house 3%, medium 4%, large 5% and manor 6%.

It'd have to be fairly minor so people don't feel like they're missing out if they can't afford a manor and so it's not preferable to thinks like ESO Plus, but it would still give you a reason to go back to your house. At the moment it seems like the only reason to visit is to add or move decorations.

Housing is a busy project with a lot of possibilities for future implements. I could make an extensive list that would turn housing into a sims experience. But the devs need to get back to fixing the borked quests in the main game { I cannot access content because I cannot complete the mage guild quest line do to a glitch with my account only ; ; }.

Things I would like to see when they get around to it in future implements (I'm not a PTS worker so idk if some of this already exists I am just guessing it does not):

    1) Working mirrors.
    2) Armoires with clothing preview.
    3) Displays for armor/weapon.
    4) Cash Shop and In Game Money purchasable storage exactly as we have for our mounts.
    5) Guild Halls focused on holding large number of players. This means it would have to be less bedecked, people, because crowded space in a game equals lag and d/c. A guild hall could not be decorated to the max like our housing.
    6) Crops.
    7) Stable.
    8) Bed animations.
    9) Log out from your home buff.
    10) Underwater swimming (that has nothing to do with homes just me and only me as everyone else in the hole wide world hates underwater swimming in games except for me, apparently).
