They could remove the entire Vestige quest line and it wouldn't affect the rest of the game other than the Soul Magic skill line that could be integrated into the 1-50 leveling.

Basically this addresses request for weapon dyes a bit and addresses ppl concerns about losing old material tiers but allows crafting of all visual types and sets up opportunities to change or restyle drops
