Best class for maelstrom arena

So after putting some thought and preparing, I will finally attempt maelstrom arena ( normal for now, vet once I beat it). What is the best class for maelstrom. TBH I'm really tired of Stam sorc( I find it really boring and plain ) so please try and say other options. But if Stam sorc is truly the best class, then I guess say so...

For me it is stam NB. However, for first timers stam/mag sorc would be better, stam DK is good too with reflect and stuff.

There is no point to even have a discussion:

It's Stam Sorc which is the best.

You literally run through mobs, continuous heals. Resistances with medium.

Dk has the lowest scores so that's the best if you want to get on the leaderboards.

You don't need the best class to finish it even your first time. Just play what you like and the results will probably be better.

And normal will do nothing to prepare you. Just get in there on vet and let the suffering begin.

This,go with comfort and stick to what your best with.although, sorc is easy mode

He hasn't even beat vma before and you're already talking leaderboards hahaha. MagDK is hardest magic class by far and stamdk.. I can't compare to other magic classes as that's the only stam clsss I've completed it on. Wasn't all that difficult for me though I farm on it on mag sorc.

And to OP I'd highly suggest mag sorc or stam sorc. I have both and they were both *** easy. Personally I prefer mag sorc for the shields so I have less to worry about. Within a couple of months I went from the first time taking a full weekend to beat to flawless conqueror breaking 500k scores

Stamdk was easy ish, but it hinders greatly on remembering spawn locations and pre-winging knowing when range attacks are more present than not.

In any case going stam sorc won't let you down, I doubt many will get on the boards as now days its a minimum of 530k score.
But for clears and farming super easy!

Leaderboards for sorc is minimum 564k iirc on Xbox... Right now it's just about finishing it and getting better at it.

Terrrrrriiiible advice. I was on struggle street the first time attempting it on my trusty comfortable magDK. Guess what? I gave up, levelled my magSorc mule to 50, breezed through it. Class matters unfortunately. I wish it was more balanced for the different classes but no...surge is OP.

For an easy clear, I'd suggest either MagNB or MagPlar. MagNB makes VMA look like a dungeon on normal difficulty. It's ridiculous how effective MagNB's are in Maelstrom. As for MagPlar, you simply Puncturing Sweeps everything, until you win. With an occasional Radiant and Toppling here and there. Lol.

Sure it matters doesn't change the fact that you should still play on the class you are most comfortable with and also enjoy. If you keep trying eventually you will beat it no matter the class.

The first time I beat vma was on a nb 2h/bow pvp build with a few of the skills swapped out. And honestly that build was mediocre. Definitely not optimized for vma but it's what I was most comfortable with at the time and I really didn't have a lot of other choices being like 95% pvp up until that point.

Perhaps. Then again perhaps not. People get frustrated and quit the game all the time. Giving them bad advice is not going to make them enjoy the game more, especially in the case of vMA.

You need to use the tool which fits the job. I may be super comfortable using a trusty old hammer but if the job at hand is painting the fence then I need a different tool to do it properly. vMA is not one of those cases where the mantra 'play the way you want' applies.

I finished vMA with stam sorc knight errant heavy armour build.

The reason I like this is it has huge margins of error.
You can stuff up and be fine due to all your mitigation and healing.

It's not the best or the fastest, but it's the easiest. You really don't need to learn every spawn and pattern because you don't instantly die when you screw up.

5 Knight errant, 5 seventh legion brute, 2 tremor scale, sword and shield on the front bar, DW on the back bar.

You'll still die a lot and swear a lot first time through, but this build is very forgiving.

He said he was bored of the Stam sorc so if he's really wants to play the most boring content with what he knows is one of the best classes but doesn't enjoy, how long do you think he will keep up with it lol? I just don't want him to think he has to be bound to one good vMA class to beat it and learn it. He wants to be saved from that cheese mode Stam sorc, it's written all over his messages. All classes can beat vMA, pick the one you like best and optimize your build to it and start embracing the suck.

I really don't think that's entirely the case with vMA. I've seen a lot of weird builds run it and, like I said my build was not truly optimized for it either.

MagSorc. Only put 15-20 into Bastion, and put like 15 into Tumbling. 5x Elegant, 5x Spinner/Julianos/Scathing/BSW & Two Ilambris/Grothdar.

I did it with Stam DK. Got hung up on poison round for a while not realizing I had the red circles turned off tho! The bow skill with the interrupt is really useful on that guy that turns red and rages

You really don't want to be interrupting that guy, he enrages and one-hits you if you do. You're supposed to hide in the shield created by the one of the adds you don't kill.

for you first time? i would said MNB, all you need is gold weapon, and purple gear, the heal will keep you going. if you have high cp and godd gear, stam sorc will be the best.
(i wont do any VMA run on stam build without VO)

Many people love the stam sorc for vmsa. I'm te most natural on my stam templar, so for me that's the easiest. My first vmsa clear was a stamplar in 2x kena, hundings rage, agility jewelry, a vr12 2h, and bow. 16.5k hp. And it only got easier from there.

What class do you play the most instinctively on? Because how well you play your toon matters. Stamsorc makes me feel like a fish out of water.

It's still stam sorc.

You still have the same healing but less damage meh.

Same time same scores as before the patch. Continue on with the meta.
