How have we gone a month and a half without a patch to the game?

With everything going on in the game, it boggles me that the last patch to pc was Dec 12.

Why is this a surprise? They said they have an update every quarter...that's a 3 month span.

Most big games don't have big updates that often.

Yea it can get much worse. I remember once we went a month without maintenance and the servers were not happy at all.
There was one quest in the Rift that got so bugged, it wouldnt even reset. They did a maintenace and everything was back to normal.

That is why I roll my eyes when people complain about the frequency of maintenance. They obviously dont remember or have never experienced what happens when the servers dont get maintenance on time.

February 6th has a big update for the PC version, and consoles will get it later in the month.

This. The Homestead Patch/DLC has been talked about a lot and is being tested on the PTS.

We know the patch is coming in early February.

I assume they had some time off over Christmas and New Year. Most Western companies close for at least a few extra days, sometimes up to about 2 weeks. So that will have delayed things slightly.

But also they are planning a big patch to come out in the next couple of weeks, so it's not like we've been left hanging with nothing being done to the game.

Well they were off work for a period of that time. I guess it's just easier to push everything into one release now than some smaller ones which might mess with the bigger patch?
