Lol damn. That's exactly why I strive to not gain bounties. Having the setting to attack innocents turned off is your friend.

I don't remember losing anything vastly important to a Guard, though I did lose a nice chunk of stolen items once, which might've been worth at least a couple thousand.

Not long after the justice system went live on the PC/Mac version of ESO, I remember someone posted on the forum about having lost an Imperial motif to a guard ...

Just a tip :) If you have hot goods and need to launder them quickly, port directly to Belkarth. You can run directly from the wayshrine to behind the enchanter/alchemist/dye station to the outlaw refuge. Even if a guard see's ya and attacks ya, its close enough you still can activate the entrance and escape. Happy laundering :D

Nothing valuable but I did lose a bunch of food recipes I hadn't unlocked on my crafter.

My fault though. Most of my characters only steal when I'm completely sure they won't be seen, so they don't get a bounty. Then I started playing a dedicated thief/DB character, racked up a bounty, went afk for a few minutes, totally forgot about the bounty and walked into the bank!

I went on a killing spree in Daggerfall once and racked up about 18k bounty... As I was running from the unkillable guards, my game decided it was a good time to crash.

Re logged to a death screen and 18k poorer.

A blue recepie. Nothing valueable but it was one I didn't know.

I really dislike the unkillable guards. There need to be a way to at least knock them down (like important NPCs in Skyrim)

Never lost anything more valuable then green fenceable stuff.

Steal smart! And in emergencies, use your theives guild contacts, remind the guard you have powerful friends, save your loot that way... then dash off to the fence and call it a day for the stealings.

Here is a better idea, port to the Sentinel Wayshrine instead, its a little bit further to walk but there are no guards near their.

Imagine you do that Thieve's Guild Achievement for Kari's Hit List and you get caught by a guard while you just stole the last item while you have all others in your inventory :-)

Davon's watch is the same way. Same with DaggerFall. You have to use the outer entrance but it is not a big deal.

Davon's watch is the same way. Same with DaggerFall. You have to use the outer entrance but it is not a big deal.

My favorite for this is Anvil, for those who have the DB DLC. The outside entrance to the the refuge is literally about 20 feet from the wayshrine, no guard in sight.

I've never lost anything horrendous to a guard. My assassin doesn't steal (so if she does get a bounty, all a guard can do is take some of her money) and my thief heads straight for a refuge when she picks up an item that's worth more than a couple hundred gold, specifically to make sure she doesn't lose it to a guard.

I'm also a bit of a stealth gamer, so the stealth mechanics in this game are pretty easy for me... bounties are rarely too much of a problem if you're smart about them. Even when a guard spots you, an invisibility potion or NB cloak are enough to get you away and to safety with not too much trouble.

Worst I ever got taken was every stitch of clothing, for the achievement. ;)
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Sentinels outlaws refuge is closer to the wayshrine then every other spot and has no guards anywhere near it...it's the place that I always FT to when unloading loot with a bounty.
