Should ZOS implement global server population caps on the megaservers?

Yes, stability and lag is awful and they can't fix it
I'm just speaking to XB1. I bought a 1S for this and destiny. Still haven't bought destiny lol cause I love this game. But I'm so frustrated with the performance I can't recommend it to my elder scrolls loving friends.

No way because if we get kicked out of cyradiil and have to re cue in, it would be awful to have to cue into the whole game. At least we can farm now while we wait!

Zos simply needs to hire people who know how to upgrade their mega servers and also give us the option on Xbox to turn down animations so we quit crashing.'

If it's not a population issue then why does cyrodiil wayrest belkarth or anywhere there is a crowd turn the game into a slide show

A slideshow? Something like that usually has to do with framerate. If you have framerate issues, but not latency, and it tends to appear in crowded areas, I suspect what's going on is that your system is trying to keep up with the enormous amount of textures and meshes in the crowd of players. This can strain a graphics processor and cause framerate drops. Happens all the time in single players games too.

Do you have the framerate and connection indicators active in your game? This could help you pinpoint whether it's bad framerate or a connectivity issue.

But you're definitely going to have latency spikes while the DDOS trouble goes on.

I'm on Xbox EU and the main issue I'm having is infinite load screens. I'm just as likely to have this problem first thing in the morning, when there aren't many players on, as I am during peak hours so server population has nothing to do with the problems I'm having.

If I loaded up the game and it said I'll be able to actually play in 20 minutes time I wouldn't wait I'd just play something else. A few instances of that and then I'd stop trying to see if I can play.

This is on Xbox. In addition there is and has always been the "I press x nothing happens" then 30 seconds later 800 attacks go off at once. I get killed in pvp before anything I do even occurs. I got killed by a SCAMP while farming ore because I couldn't hit him back. This is what I'm talking about. I honestly can't believe nobody is willin to wait 5 min to log in to help the problem.

They clearly can't handle the load. Would you mind queueing for character login?

Another pointless poll; you are presuming the cause for in-game issues. Yes in-game issues need to be addressed, but if it was a simple question of population it would have been remediated awhile ago.

I feel like it is population related because when I'm out in the boonies the game runs smoooth but cities? Not so much. I gave up doing undaunted stuff cause it was a 100% chance of a crash at the enclave.

You're confusing a lot of people in close proximity with the number of people on the megaserver.

If you're having poor framerates and stability in cities or other crowded areas then you should at least look at your settings and connection (not just speed but also ensuring that it's cabled and not wireless) in order to identify any scope for improvement at your end. However, I don't know the ins and outs of console. Does the "au" at the end of your name indicate that you're playing from Australia by any chance? If so that is bound to be a factor in any performance issues.

Lag is not often an issue for me on the pve side of this game and I am playing out of Oceania region on adsl. Cyrodiil on the other hand can be a nightmare at times as it is for lots of players, nothing new though.

    This is on Xbox.

It doesn't matter if it's an Xbox or a PC, an Xbox is still a computer, has a CPU, a graphics card, etc. A 'slideshow' effect is a framerate problem, which can arise from either internet issues or processing issues. Buying an Xbox over using a PC to game doesn't make one's experience immune to the limitations of a computer system or the internet connection you are using.

I understand that you're having a bad time and it definitely does suck to be killed by a scamp, but I think you want the problem to be with Zenimax and not with the system that you own, or a personal failure to troubleshoot.

It might be heresy of the blame-ZOS-for-stubbing-my-toe culture of the forums but not every problem is the fault of a back-end systemic flaw. Sometimes it's in the front end with you.

There is no one to blame for connection problems except upset players who DDOS the servers. This problem is not unique to this game by any stretch of the imagination and the same whiny little sh*** DDOS other games when they make changes they don't like. Warframe had a similar problem a few months ago when they made changes to item gathering.
