It's going to have to eventually if we keep getting a higher CP point for the constellations. Eventually everything will just be to easy.

The forums will be a fun day when that is announced. All the member whining how the vMA sharpened weapons are now no longer good.

But the damage increase from CP180 gear will likely be a lot more than from 10 or 13 extra points in Mage tree. Remember how much better VR16 gear was than VR14 gear? If your goal is to prevent the game from becoming too easy, the last thing you want is a new gear tier.

the CP cap is increasing but not the armor/weapon levels. They said they will increase it at some point but not anytime n the near future

It doesn't matter really as it just scales and/or its the same for everyone so no need to consider it as a variable, better to focus on set choice, traits, enchants and improvement etc imo
Just a poor healer from Glenumbra..

No and they shouldn't raise the armor CP cap. There is absolutely no reason to.

Weapons maybe. Armor? No difference that was worth crowing about. Que up a CP140 piece and a CP160 piece and you will see the lack of a difference. Same thing will happen with CP180 or whatever.

And, your right, we do have enough power creep in this game already, throwing a new gear level at it will not make it any better. Besides, all that will happen is the mobs will get buffed so the power parity will still be there, all the PvP players will grind for the gear so there will be no difference there. A bunch of activity and drama for no net gain.

What we do need is to have more gear sets introduced like the World Drop Sets we had recently. Then bring back Caps. That is your gear progression, being able to use different sets for different builds.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I'm sometimes worried they might. Then I remember that would mean rescaling everthing, which is too much work for them so they won't be doing that.

Most of us don't have 8 hours a day to grind gear. This would cause a lot of screaming.

It doesn't need to at all, it has nothing to do with the CP cap, even the devs have stated that. Everything is already too easy and this is probably another reason they won't raise the gear cap.

Personally I am waiting for them to announce removing equipment levels all together or to make them based on the level you have for the respective armor/weapon skills instead of character level.
