Alliance War (caltrops) is the worst

Mage guild is easy. Even Fighter's guild is more anoying(and it is basicly leveld by just playing).

Cyro is super laggy and it takes forever to level the skill lines.

I reaaally hate PvP.

I'll get Mages Guild up just by running around questing and collecting skyshards, I don't mind going a bit out of my way to finish the last couple of levels. It goes very quickly if you have the Lorebooks addon.

Yes it does! Look at the Tool Tip for the XP boosts.... And if you are a ESO Plus subscriber, it adds 10% more XP on top of the Crown Store elixirs.

Lorebooks don't provide XP and consequently, the Mages Guild skill line doesn't level up off XP. The potion will do nothing.

Well you need 98k AP to get vigor. Try playing in smaller group. Solo, I think a kill is 1.7k AP. So 60 solo kills gets you vigor.

To the OP, you also need fighters guild for endgame stam builds too

I find both to be part of the game I willingly spend time playing and therefore don't think there is a "worst": If I did, I'd play something else.

I swear I hate doing mages guild its the most boring thing in the game only thing even close to as boring in this game are the horrible quest in this game.

Add mages Guild to the crown store already So i no longer have to grind for it.

Magika has it way worse and if your a healer you need to do Mages Guild and PVP for War Horn and Barrier.

The Mages Guild dailies do so little leveling they are hardly worth it. Love it if it worked like killing certain enemies you got Skill Line XP like you do for Fighters Guild.

From next update AP will be even easier with yesterdays PTS update making that Vigor grind so much easier as well.

Alliance War (caltrops) is the worst

Mages Guild doesn't feel like a lot of work to me since I collect all skyshards and do all quests that have a skill point reward anyway on every alt I level. And even if I didn't, collecting all lore books needed to reach Mages Guild rank 10 probably takes less than 2 hours of riding through zones with Rapid Maneuver. Close to 200k AP on the other hand... on an alt that is not geared or skilled for PvP is painful.

Only voted for the obvious few people voting mage's guild whom like to PvP and would not be a 'PvEr' in the sense I think is intended.

Only character I have any of these spells unlocked on is my main cause of IC, and he's magicka

Alliance war, of course. Who needs this useless Magic guild anyway? Even if you need it - spend one evening or less for fast run through all maps, picking up books. One Tamriel makes is as easy as... whatever.

its not close to 200 k ap..it is 90k ap..which you can get in an hour

Nope. Each book is worth 5 xp no matter how many XP potions you're using.

No you don't. You just need to complete achievements in the dungeon achievements section.(minus the public dungeons and delves) the pledges help for extra xp but it's a small part of it.

Most normal dungeons can be soloed now even while levelling with OT scaling so you don't even need a group or to wait until you get to 45. Do all of those will get you most of the way. Then doing the Vet Dungeons and on hard mode will get you the rest of the way. If you can get speed and no death runs even better but all that can be done in a couple days easy.

is this really even a question? There is no contest here. No debate. Mage Guild takes much longer to level. Anyone with a couple thousand gold can buy wall repair and spend a couple hours working as a mason. Mages guild takes several hours, a map, access to wayshrines, multiple references to your achievement section, and some require quest completion to gain access to an area.
The last toon I got Vigor and Caltrops on was a pure tank and I got them in less then 5 hours without ever even taking a swing at another player. Just wall repair and D-ticks in a dead campaign, all while I was working on a project for work.

Honestly, they have lowered the AP to get Alliance skills several times now AND increased AP gains. And this is in addition to the fact that they have reworked the skill line progression a couple times too to move unlock sequence around.....all because of the QQ from PvE elitists that do not want to play PvP

I would rather die repeatedly, lag out, horse simulator, and spam heals on the bridge for 6 hours, than spend all day in load screens hopping from map to map picking up stupid books.

At least zerg/bridge chaos is entertaining to watch.

Man... this is a tough one. Neither are terribly difficult, but both are painfully annoying when you are doing it JUST for that.

Mages guild: Skyshard hunt/delve/dolmen/world bosses to break up the monotony.
PvP: run with friends/defend/siege/push emp/run resources/capture towns.

Branch out! It might be a tad slower, but you won't want to chug razorblades while you are doing it.

AP gains are so easy now, I would much rather go get caltrops than get lorebooks!

At least on PC you have an addons and/or mini map to show the location to make getting lorebooks faster

Anything that requires AP.

There are lots of alternatives to Meteor, and by the time you get all your skyshards and level to 50 I'm pretty close to being finished with Mages Guild.

But the only way to get Vigor & Caltrops is to start at 0 in Cyrodil and chase battles.

Worse, with the goal of getting AP you can join a bad campaign and either be completely overrun by a color dominating the map or join a completely empty campaign and you gotta solo siege castles, lol.
