Guild Representation in Housing

So with housing coming into place soon a number of my guilds have announced their intention to purchase a guild hall that will be open to its membership. With all these guilds doing this I wanted to put the bug in the ears of the devs that we'd like to see customization for shared guild halls, banners and flags with guild logos and that sort of thing. I also wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone has other ideas on customization for guild halls. If the idea gets enough backing there is a good chance it will happen and I thought the request could be more complete if I posted this to get further ideas.

    I agree with the OP.

I'd like to be able to buy a Manse specifically as a Guildhall. I plan on doing that anyway, but for the Guilds, Housing should allow more people access to the Housing (at least up to the same maximum that Guild Membership is allowed).

I really want to be able to craft Banners in my Guild colors and be able to place my Guild symbol on them, then decorate the Guild hall with those same banners.

I would very much hope that they would add these ideas in. This would make so much sense in increasing the immersion of being in a Guild, as well as for the Guilds to feel like we actually have our own spaces in ESO.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_RichLambert Any thought's on the OP's ideas?

One can call the home a guild hall however it is the home of whomever purchases it. Ownership cannot be transfered and as such if they leave the guild of game the guild loses control of the home.

For this reason Zos is unlikely to create customization that OP is requesting since there are no guild halls being added to the game soon.

My guess is they will eventually add guild halls. However, expect pricing to be significantly higher than homes.

And you've just listed out some of the larger concerns I have about Housing as it stands right now.

That's by no means all of my concerns, but those are a few at the top of my list.

ZOS just didn't think Housing through very thoroughly...

Using the tabards as banners is a must. But also the ability to have different levels of control depending on your rank perhaps. So rather than allowing everyone in the guild to instantly have access to decorating, you can save that for a slightly higher rank.
I know that they say you cannot delete items that are placed already, only move them. But having seen the level of control you get with everything, it would be very easy for someone to grief a guild home that may have been decorated perfectly. For instance, imagine the Craglorn Cave, designed by many people in the guild, it looks great, then someone who maybe has bad intentions comes in and just picks up every asset and puts them in the lake or on the ceiling, its possible. AND there is no "restore point" for safety. Just another thing to think about.

Displaying guild heraldry would be fantastic, as would some increased functionality for guild hall stuff--I'm hoping this is in the pipe already.

It'll be in the pipe, once they figure out what kind of price tag to slap on it...

Of course yes. I neglected to consider the money grab aspect.

The number one thing the Devs have got to do is raise the player cap inside the biggest homes. They won't be useful to most guilds until they provide a way to raise the player occupancy past 24 people. The island and cave would match Montana's population density with 24 characters standing inside.

As I understood it, they intend to bring guild-hall stuff later, but it would be nice if there was at least some way to unlock more player capacity in homes.

I think it would be a good idea to allow us to make guild banners even if houses aren't intended as guild halls. I think it'd be quite cool if you had a large enough house to have alternating guild and alliance banners. Or simply have a guild banner over the crafting stations to welcome your friends in.

I'd suggest allowing us to craft tapestries and rugs with the guild logo on as a minimum. But it would be nice to have a whole category of furnishings with the guild logo - thrones, paintings, plates, vases, mugs...

I haven't spent much time looking at the permissions but if I've understood correctly you can assign permissions to one individual which 'overwrite' the guild permissions. So you could have all guild members set as visitors and then officers set as decorators. Or only specific officers. Then it's just a matter of the owner keeping it up to date as members change ranks.
