Best all around class ?

I'm talking PVP, PVE, groups and solo. I can't decide which class to play and stick with.

What's needed these days? What are there to many of these days?

Edited: im more so interested in survivabilty. Being able to dps and take care of myself mainly. I am thinking on healing down the road, but for now it's all about leveling and taking care of me.

Disregard the previous post.

It really depends on your play style.

Since bow is lackluster all stam are melee. Magika has 2 truly fanjfed classes, sorc and NB though a Templar can be played range but most magika Templar builds that are range are lack luster.

That affects both PvE and PvP. Beyond that it depended really on what your interested in to provide more information.

Based on the added information it would be magika Templar mostly due to the healing down the road but also puncturing sweep heals while doing damage.

In melee the build heals you most of the time which is good solo and in groups.

I will more than likely dance around and find something I enjoy most until im ready to start getting into the end game and events. Just can't decide on a class. Templar seems the way to go, but I've heard that and the NB class are the fotm.
I don't like playing fotm. I like to be a class people are stearing away from.

There is no such thing as a class people steer away from. The answer to your original question is magicka templar. Templars have been a pretty solid class for a long time now for PvP and PvE, and will give you everything you're looking for.

What are you on exactly? When I talked of "these [unique] builds" I was advising the OP to create something fun and non-meta rather than what everyone else does.

there is one broken class in the game. Templar. Invented for scrub play. If you dislike being bothered too much, pick templar.

2nd best is sorcerer. Stamina one.

And if solo PvE is what u like, avoid sNB.

So, the best classes are the Sorcerer, Nightblade, Templar, and Dragon Knight, in no particular order. Just ignore the Warden, it might as well not exist.

Tried a bow/bow stamsorc with a pet and was unimpressed. Unfortunately, ESO falls into the RPG tripe of 'if you pick up a bow, you must pick up daggers' / 'if you are a wizard you will suck with a bow'. I made bow backed up by magic work fine in Diablo II, Oblivion and Skyrim. Not so in ESO (or Baldur's Gate 2).

Converted that sorc to destr/resto magsorc and it is better but still not good. A bit squishy and high maintenance (shield and auras to keep up). I expect a magsorc is very effective, just a bit hard to play for my old fingers.

Then went with a magplar healer and have never looked back. I consider the playstyle. . . glorious. Yes, she is reasonably forgiving in combat but that is perfect as it allows her to focus on her job as healer. If attacked, she can quite ably dispatch her attacker(s) and get back to healing and support for others. We do spend quite a bit of time solo and she does all quests with no problem at all solo - with only 3 or 4 of her 10 slots set to offensive abilities.

Can't speak to NB or DK.

A best all around class doesnt exist. Every class has equal potential. The only thing that determines class strength is gear and player skill. The only reponses you'll get here are preference.

Totally disagree... While it's true that you can do most things with most classes, to say that they have equal potential in all roles is totally false.

Certain classes have key strengths that makes them unique to others. Eg Templars are best healers, DKs best tanks etc. Various reasons... Eg Templars are only class that can give stamina back to the group. That's class based and nothing to do with gear or skill.

I'd agree with most others... Magicka Templars are most versatile class by quite a long way.

If you want to PvE Heal or DD: Magicka Templar
If you want to PvE Tank: Tank Dragonknight
If you want to 1vX PvP: Stamina Sorcerer
If you want to Gank: Stamina Nightblade
If you want to PvP large-scale: Magicka Templar or Tank Dragonknight

Overall

Most damage: Sorcerer
Most Teamplay: Templar
Most durability: Dragonknight
Most salt: Nightblade

I've actually ended up going sorcerer. I like all the different opinions as it gives info on how people feel about certain classes. At the moment I am magicka based, as I am doing solo pve for leveling.

I'll dabble in everything, but until I hit end game I'm going to play around with my class and learn it's ins and outs. More so a healer than anything at the moment. Survivability with some dps to do what I need to do.
