An Idea for Update 13: A "traveling" ship-home

Dear Mr. @ZOS_RichLambert and the ESO community,

I have been thinking about a home idea for Update 13. I think it will be awesome to have a “traveling” ship as a house. I am going to break down the idea into two parts.

1) It seems to be a limitation of the ESO game engine that the ship models cannot move. To achieve the “traveling” idea we can use a simple menu system. When a player buys the home either in game or via the crown store, they will travel to a dock in a city. They will see a small ferry boat that will ferry them to the real home ship out in the sea (ie in it’s own instances just like any other house in Update 13).

After the player do whatever in their ship-home; they will go to the top deck and use the door icon (the square icon used for doors) and it will ask via text menu where they want to be ferry to. They can select cities like Daggerfall, Vulkhel Guard, Davon's Watch, Skywatch, Windhelm, other home islands, etc. Thus, the ship can “travel” to any city without the ship model really moving.

2)They are four ship models that are already in game: AD, EP, DC and the Maormer. Thus, they can be four ship-homes that a player can choose from via in game or via the crown store. All of them can use the “travel menu system” in point one. Also, an item that a player can buy is a flag for their ship to mark it as part of the fraction they want to be a part of.

What do you think of this idea?

Well I like my yacht partys in gta, so why not. Hanging out in hot tub with other naked orcs would be interesting. Maybe little bit awkward. And weird. Orc.

I like your idea. You can be like a pirate king/queen sailing around the ports of Tamriel.

Also, what about a flying air ship, Like the one from Morrowind?

Probably an easier way to do the "houseboat" idea is have a rowboat in every major harbour that can take you to your instanced "ship home" - which visuals would of course depend on which racial ship you purchase (only one possible for the entire account though that way, but who cares?)

Actually I remember seeing Khajiit ships in Abahs landing...
And of course they could easily add more ship-shapes. Imperial galley. Nord longship. Orsimer cog. Redguard baghlah. Perhaps even argonian giant turtles with shell-mounted structures? ;)
Though I can't really think of anything for the bosmer, all that "green pact" thing may be somewhat determimental to shipbuilding due to lack of woodworking possibilities...

I was thinking something like a rowboat in every port when I was referring about "ferry boat." The exit list off the home ship might be a little too long. Even if it only a 3 or so ports, that will work also. The ferry boat will take you to and from home ship.

Have said before would love to have the option of a ship as home and your idea about travelling just makes it better!

Would want to have one of the (Khajiit?) ones like at Abah's Landing....

I've been thinking it would be cool to own a ship instead of (or as well as) a house ever since this update came to the PTS, but your idea makes it even better!

Would love to see this in the game.

Daggerfall had the ship 'homes' as moored up varieties you could visit at a designated port if I recall, but did give a nice travel discount when travelling by sea. Maybe the ships will come later in another update but I really doubt we will see a flying ship anytime soon.
