Weapon skill lines glow visuals. Option to turn them off.

Hello.

You know these golden glows that weapon skill lines seem to add on melee weapons like the whole characters arms glowing etc. In my wievpoint, the visuals only really fit Templar skills and especially as a player who wants to play pure warrior with no magickjs, these glow effects are really out of place.

I do understand that they play a role in PVP setting to show other players certain clues of what you are doing, but in PVE, i just wwant them to go away.

I propose a cloent side disable to this. All weapon skill glow visuals should have an turn off option in setting, client side only so that it wont affect others than yourself. Enchants should not be part of this.

TWhat say you?

It's not necessarily weapon skills - the colour of your arms is used as a visual indicator for many things, here's a couple of examples:

    Minor Force - White arms
Burning Spellweave proc - Orange arms
Follow-up after interrupt - Orange arms
Clever alchemist proc - Orange arms (IIRC)

There are many more - they usually serve to give the player some means of knowing when a certain buff is active, given the lack of base-game buff trackers at present.

Saying that, I see no argument against allowing players to turn off all of these cues if they so desire.

Well, if you're a pure warrior, surely you cant buff or heal yourself with a 2hander? There's still some magic involved.

I see, then its a bit more problematic. Non class specific buffs should have class visual for example so that the effect is not in conflict with the class. Especially the arm glow is very intrusive to me.

I rather have an addon for procs like in Warcraft, they tend to be more clear and informative in the group situations but in solo PVE, i mostly dont want them, just basic spell visuals or in the warrior case, no visuals at all, at least not in traditional warrior, spellswords are different but thats a different case. A sorcerer based biuld could look fantastic with these yellow and orange glows turned blue with some lightning effect added but the yello glow for shock spell specialist feels like i was not paying attention at class of collage and had some odd side effect from spell i did not cast properly.

Indeed, but when there are no magical visuals, at least the feel is right when you dont see odd glows everywhere ;)

Well, you can choose not to use these magical skills. I, for one, don't as I like playing pure warrior/thief/hunter characters.
Therefore I'm in favor of the OP's suggestion.

As i have done, no magical skills on the bar right now but the problem is that the arm glow which is very easily seen, triggers when i am blocking. Im not sure if it also happens on dual-wield and 2 handed weapns but my character wants axe and buckler so there is no choice there.

I could also like it more if all those procs and stuff would be shown as small icons in the upper screen instead of all these glows.
