Desert Rose set - Does it work as it reads?

So Im thinking of running a 5 Spinners, 5 Desert Rose, 2 Infernal Guardian setup with spinner staff on front bar and DR staff on back bar for when im in defense and buffing ill be getting hit the most and hopefully refilling my magicka. So a few questions, does DR work like it reads and if hit once and the 10% proc goes off I immediately get 2400 or so magicka replenished or is it less than that and I need to get hit more than once to build up to that 2400. Secondly do my shield buffs getting hit replenish just like if I were to get hit with no buff on?

Not sure I can exactly answer your question, but Desert Rose is very effective (there is a reason shields cost 300k). You get hit and its a 10% chance to proc the buff for a flat magika increase. It is very powerful if you are getting hit from multiple sources and your magic can fill up really fast. It does proc if your shields get hit, but not if you reflect with wings. If I run Desert Rose/Black Rose, I can block cast igneous shields on my DK and take a LOT of damage.

I really like Desert Rose if I am solo or trying to go really tanky. For the sewers (need PVE type damage and regen), and most group stuff, I prefer lich, unless I am the one that is supposed to tank.

Edit: What class is this for? When i go staff on my DK front bar, I prefer lich back bar over Desert Rose. I really only like DR if going double S/B.

You said you're using staffs,you can't use 5/5/2 unless you're using DW or SnB

Yep considering most of the time im buffing is when im taking damage so I figured it would work pretty well.

An Impen shield on PC EU goes for lik 700-800k

It's a pretty nice set for resource recovery it you're taking damage. Anecdotally it seems to proc fairly often. One thing to note, it also procs off DoT ticks.
