Console AddOns

The only thing Microsoft/Sony don't want is nudity and copyright material in add ons, from what I've read.

Other publishers have done it so it's obviously possible. ZoS controls the APIs, could dedicate the resources to vet the add ons and disable the APIs/Add Ons that cause issues. They choose not to and it does not seem to be a priority at this point, most likely because it's not revenue (crown) generating.

I'm curious. How do the addons for Skyrim work? Could they not implement it the same for this?

They work ez. In the selection menus of both skyrim & fallout 4 there's a mod link. Pretty ez and you can disable at anytime. It's a L2 Develop issue I think on ZOS part.

no. it's learn to permit on the part of sony and microsoft. same issue on fo4 at the beginning.

Can we really say this though? I'm not defending either Sony or MS - but has ZOS even tried? It's one thing to blame Sony and MS if ZOS tried and failed, but if ZOS has never even posed the question to them - then it's ZOS dropping the ball.

    Just saying.

I don't see why we can't have console addons - especially if they're endorsed by ZOS themselves. It wouldn't be much like FO4 and Skyrim where players can just make whatever they want and nobody checks after the fact - ZOS actually monitors their addons so that's like an extra layer of security for MS and Sony to coddle behind.

The only things most people want are buff trackers, skyshards/lorebook indicators & maybe a merchant or auction house.... Most people aren't fussed about the last one though.

I'm pretty fussed about that last one.

It would be nice to have an actual stable economy and being able to see the average price sales on items, have search functions and be able to see where the item you need is being sold would be amazing.

Instead of asking for addons. Feel proud console users have the most competitive players out of all platforms. We don't need training wheels like PC players do.

Stop allowing the developers to be lazy by asking for add-ons. Tell them to put requested features that support game play into the game instead of relying on free labor.
Knee Jerk, L2P, Obtuse, Casual, Entitled, All The Best, unnecessary mention of CoD

Battle leveling for pve content defeats the idea of progression. Remove CP

Mage books: Google. Leave some mystery to this one for those who want it, and for those who want to power level, everything is only a google search away.

I pretty much did this to get Mage Guild lv 10. Takes a couple of hours, but it works like a charm.

Do it 11 times and then you'll be screaming and pulling your hair out.

Still have to do it once more probably :(

The add on won't make it any quicker. It'll just save looking at 2 screens.

Really? I like the way it is now. You can't beat that feeling when you are rewarded for traveling to an out of the way trader & finding what you were looking for for a fraction of the price it is in some of the bigger traders for.

Wait wait wait a minute, let me just pull my ESOing sleep deprived head together...
Ok here I go and it is only for consoles (no PC).

We have a community that is hungry for more (whatever the interest ). Always wanting more content, classes, races, items, costumes, skills and this growing list continues to oblivion and beyond. ZOS adds to the game, maybe slower than most of us hoped for, but in such a way the community as a whole on average can enjoy and be happy about.

Up to this point looking at the players we have: the nerf'ers, buffers, quitters, joiners, duelers, RP'ers, pvp'ers and pve'ers and so much more. The toxic environment that already exist between all these groups and its on equal ground....

Having on console the assurance that all have exactly the same as the other, was at least for me a reassuring thought. Just think off what any or all of those groups would do it everyone can use add-on's. Every person eventually will cry foul... every, even the one asking for removal. Nerf'ers will become blockers, buffers become allow'ers and so fourth.

The level of complaints and on equal ground is already sky high. Now I'm all for the buff/debuff trackers and it will be for all on equal ground, probably will have the choice for on or off as well. I can not imagine what would become off the console version when all was used to equal and now all of a sudden one start to think, yeah he/she cheats, must be there add on.

Personally I think like all, yeah it would be nice but also I think that it will destroy all that we came to love. This is not PC(personal computer and NOT POLITICAL CORRECT), PC has and will always be on unequal ground, everyone knows this from the start, just looking at the different riggs, processing power etc. To some extend that is exactly what I love about console's = EQUALITY in hardware with internet connection speed the exception, its one and I hear: yeah you won because of lag, 1. On PC there's a lot and thats their problem.

I can only imagine how this forum would look like after 2 months of running add ons. Remember skyrim is solo, you against a computer and its sort of offline. ESO is online with a lot of other players walking the same grounds as you, the same door, same boss to fight.
The economy will be destroyed, I like to gather but sometimes I buy the one item/resource I'm missing atm. If add ons will show everyone where to pick up exactly what they need, no one will buy. Think how the nodes will look like, well at least dueling will take place there and not in city's anymore.

I really think we as a ESO community must tread lightly on this add on thing and rather ask only for buff/debuff trackers. Add ons will destroy our last feeling of unity. It will sow distrust in every aspect of the game. You'll hear things like, but you only won because of the "warn before arrow hits knee buff".
Think off the irl sales offering make believe better than yours add ons!!
To me this is just a big NOPE... love the Idea, but it is not for CONSOLE ESO.
I will not suvive an ESO addonnocast at all...

Big read i know, sleep deprived head losing thought, can not edit for finale spelling/reading......sorry

SlinkySlack says NO TO ADD ONs but yes to trackers (not the same)
