@ZOS_GinaBruno,
@ZOS_JessicaFolsomSo here is a scenario that has been happening to me for quite a while: Player A is playing with his dd character, A1. Player B, using character B1, is looking for a healer and/or dd, and Player A decides to join his group. Player A then suggests he could relog with his healer character, A2, so that the search would be faster. He relogs and comes online with A2. He tries to whisper Player B, using /whisper (or /tell) B1, but he can't. A2 can now only reach B1 via zone chat, since he can't reach him otherwise, but WAIT! It gets better. A2 is now in a different instance of the world and B1 can't even see him shouting in zone chat. With both Player A and Player B not knowing other player's UserID, they have literally zero chance of ever grouping up, unless Player A decides to relog until he is actually thrown in the proper instance.
(Now, I'm not really sure whether zone chat is instanced as well, but every time this has happened to me, I couldn't send them a whisper and I would get no replies in zone chat. I could, of course, if I had known their UserID, which cannot be seen when talking to people in chat (except in guilds, obviously). After relogging, however, I would sometimes see that same player looking for other players and in other cases, they would've already found a replacement for me.)
It's quite frankly unbearable, annoying and frustrating and I hope this is a bug that you plan on fixing pronto. Two words: User. Experience. Why would you make a decision like that? What god-forsaken, evil, malicious, satanic, puppy-killing force would drive you to make grouping experience in cases such as this foul, disgusting nightmare? Was it Adolf? Jeb? Saddam? I'm literally trying to help the group by switching my role, jumping off my main in order to make the searching for players faster and more efficient, and I get punished for that? Not only that, the group is punished as well, since they've just lost a player. Why is this a thing? Why should I be punished for being kind to people?
This whole thing is literally like buying a chocolate for a poor kid next door. You meet the boy outside and tell him you'll buy him a chocolate from the local store. You go to the store and buy the chocolate only to find out that the poor kid has died of hunger. I know - it breaks your heart! It's even worse than those "PAWS" people on the forum (fun fact, they're Californians).
Why can't you just "/tell 'B1' and reach that very same player and character with A2? Why must A2 first meet a character in the zone in order to be able to contact him via his character name?
That's how this makes me feel.

I mean, I doubt I'm the only one being bothered by this. The whole thing seems as a pointless, unneeded
So here's a couple of obvious solutions:
a.) Enable A2 to whisper B1 (again, those are character names) without a problem - there are no duplicate names in ESO, this really shouldn't be a problem.
b.) Enable us to toggle UserIDs on and off via Settings (there's an AddOn, pNames, that does something like this, but it is absolutely horrendous, messy, ugly and distracting).
Thanks, I'm sure you'll make it happen!
