Would I like to see more interaction with items akin to previous ES games? Yes. But then I also want the moon on a stick...

No, I'm fine with it being just like another MMORPG instead of an Elder Scrolls interactive feeling
I don't want to deal with someone's litter.

I bought this game because it was an MMORPG not because it was an Elder Scrolls game.

No, you can't move objects because you are not the dragon born. I think that is intuitively obvious. Besides what would you do with those objects? Close the pool, Habo style?

How do people still think it's an Elder Scroll game?

It's an MMO that uses Elder Scroll lore. That's it. It's just the backdrop.
Because it is an Elder Scrolls game, it's just not a part of the main series. Every game set in this universe is an Elder Scrolls game, even though genres can vary.

It would be cool, but resource intensive - the servers would have to remember the location of every item ever. The single player eso games had trouble with it when they reached a certain point, so an MMO has no chance.

I recall that someone from ZOS said they might consider it for client-side, so only you could see the dropped items - but i think this is unlikely to ever happen.

OP you seem to really dislike people disagreeing with you.

I agree, that kind of physics would be really nice, but the problem is that this game contains a lot of people who would abuse that feature and really make the game unplayable for other people. Again, this game is first-and-foremost an MMO, and thus the priority should be to make the game playable with as few bugs as possible.

There's also the problem of engine limitations; the engine running this game lacks many features. In this game physics literally only ever apply to players and NPCs, nothing else. No items are actually movable. To code that into the game would be to introduce a ton of bugs; you know how buggy that already is in Skyrim; in ESO, it would be absolutely horrendous.

Also, ZOS really isn't a bunch of godlike developers who can perform miracles with code; if anything, I'd say they're pretty incompetent.

As much as I love dropping 85 wheels of cheese in Belethor's shop in Skyrim (and shouting them ALL over the place...man I love wrecking up that guys shop), in this case its better that we can't do that. It would be catastrophic for the poor servers and just imagine the mess?!

Yall take concern of the developers and game capablities.

Think of it. There is no limits.

    Thats how innovation is made.

If you worked at Apple and told steve jobs, "oh we cannot do that, its too complex, that's why", you get fired.

There is no limits, do you want this if its possible, Yes or No.
Dont think too technical about it (aka hackers, computer specs), think about if it would make game fun or not.

Quit being negative nancy's and think about would it make the game interactive and interesting.

You forgot to mention bugs, exploits, hacks.... just no.

When client-server applications are involved there are absolutely limits.

When object and character data load affect server performance, there are absolutely limits.

While it would be nice to have, this is one of the many things I am more than happy to sacrifice to make ESO a playable multiplayer title.
