Can we get rid of cp 160 already?

It should have gone when they changed the leveling system, all the gear from 1 to cp 159 is worthless. It's a huge timesink for no reason, just like leveling a 2nd character to 50.

Just make lvl 50 the cap already and get rid of arbitrary leftover scaling.

Also an option to skip the leveling process for characters beyond the first would be great.

So, you want to start at level 50 with the skills and skill level of a level 3? You'd have to grind out the skill lines anyway, so what is the point?

I think most gamers like to have some sense of character progression, especially in RPG's. That's why a lot of single player RPG's become dull because you hit a ceiling. Seriously, what would happen after your first character got to level 50? It would end all character progression on that account?

I used to feel like the op. But once i hit level 50 going to cp 160 was so fast and easy from just questing, delves and doleman runs. Just enjoy the ride its worth it. And i didn't have any problem with cp gear below 160. I don't know what your talking about there. If your trying to do group stuff solo then that's your problem for trying to rush getting to 160.

As the comments roll in I actually agree 100% except for skipping levels on an alt

However, there are adjustment that need to align at the same time.

    My suggestions are simple:
-materials (remove the material alignment from levels and instead use wood, cloth and metal)
So the old mat names would stay as artwork only and that leave opportunities for changing artwork.
-For enchanting the potency runes would be consolidated and the effects would adjust as enchantments were created based on the level. No other changes
-So now gear would just continue to scale and drop as it does

-CP levels, the champion passives would continue with their effects. You would still gain them, however they would no longer align with any gear or materials.

So in the end, we would use character levels of 1-50

thats the non complicated part of it

Honestly I dont get how over simplified people want a MMORPG to be. It's already gone too far, far too far dumbing things down IMO.

Requests to get rid of levels, gear & mat levels etc, etc, start a new character at end game etc etc, people might as well most go play a FPS.

don't get me wrong, from the beginning I've advocated they need an arcade mode. Log in, no levels, pick a template, crack on, like a FPS. (or PTS I guess) for those that hate leveling or taking time and can all play comparably, but for the richness of rhe game that gives it longevity why would you want to completely gut it like this? It's just impaitence. Leveling is a cake walk now, of you want to do it fast. Or you can enjoy the game, both options open.

Sorry, I just hate calls to simplify a game that's so huge and multi tiered.

Exactly this. It's not like you get to level 50 and your character's done leveling. You still need to finish leveling up FG, MG, Undaunted, hunt skill points....

If gear progression between 50 and CP160 were removed it would reduce the sense of progression that players get, in my opinion.

Sense of progression comes not just through levels, but also through gear improvements.

Personally I'd like to see further gear progression added. However, because of the grind involved in getting tempers etc to upgrade gear quality I think it should now be in stages of 50 levels.

Make the next one CP200, CP250, CP300 etc, all the way through to CP500. Coupled with CP spent on the passive there need only be a marginal increase in gear power.

Could not the progression be better aligned from 1-50?

Consider that when VR existed there were tiers that still remain and best viewed in the crafting tiers aligned with levels and materials.

Just condense the gaps, and I type additional things above in my comment that also would need to adjust but its simple stuff.

I don't know about all gear being worthless, but I agree that for a long time now crafted gear has been relegated to placeholders while leveling up and then end game grinding.

It's been all about drop gear, monster sets, and what you buy in Imperial City. At least that's 99% of all PvP builds.

While I think that the OP got it wrong, I do think there needs to be higher level gear. 160? Really? 160 gear is fine for quests. But group dungeons, Cyr, raids, etc... nope.

I think they should keep the champion points but don't have gear based on cp. Gear should only go from level 1-50. Once you reach level 50 cp points are just cp points. There's no higher gear for higher cp.

I got the game mechanics the first time around, It's annoying enough wasting 2 days grinding even with 2x XP, you don't learn anything from it it's just a time sink.

160 cp is a meaningless and arbitrary point for gear to begin to have value. Gear should have no cp value and just have 50 be its peak.

I don't mind it staying the same, but just wanted to share.

SO by your reckoning OP, does this mean I will now need 100+ Rubedite to craft a single piece of fresh Level 50 gear? Or are you proposing even more changes than your original thoughts imply? Every seemingly "simple" game change has a ripple effect, always impacting several other systems in the game. Remember that.

You grind to 50 the first time, upon reaching "max level" you find out every drop you get is trash until you hit cp 160 which is what, three times longer a grind than what you just did?

They designed it to milk money out of subscribers and they abandoned that plan so why is gear still behind a wall.

Ok... so I rethought my opinion. This means the crafting system, NPCs, and more would have to get a rework. With the HUGE possibility of bugs being created... ABSOLUTELY not.

You might want to try BDO, OP. There are features like auto riding and afk fishing.

This way you dont have to do tedious tasks like ... playing the game.

Also I'd like to inform you that a single Vet Level back then took longer than level 50 to CP 160. Plus, you just have to do this once!

No to instant gratification! Leveling makes you familiar with your char and class. It's a needed process for you to L2P.

1- Crafted gear is worthless with a couple exceptions, most builds never use any so it would affect a lot less people than who go through cp 1-160.

2- Gear crafting cost is irrelevant, it's not like rubedite is hard to find or used in anything else.

To the "you don't want to play the game" crowd: I do, I just don't consider grinding for the millionth time for hours just to try a slightly different race/class combo to be playing. It's the *** stopping me from playing.

CP, especially the first 100 or so, is gained faster than levels. By a factor of ten at the most extreme example.

I kind of agree with about half of your post. Cp 10-140 mats are completely pointless to anyone that has hit Cp160 on one character. This means that for anyone making an alt, these gear levels are completely pointless and are just completely skipped. However I kind of like only having to level to 50 to be maxed level once you've gotten past 160 cp.
