so i was in a argument with some today about when telvar killing becomes bannable. the arguement was that if you kill a player with somthing like 20-30k with a buddy and it splits in 1/2 to the 2 people that killed him it becomes bannable, cause we killed him with 20-30k. i was under the impression that telvar duping is only applied when the situation goes
1. 1 person gets a large amount of telvar out
2. the other 2 people kill the 1st guy and get 1/2 his telvar split
3. (this is were i thought its bannable) the 1st guy comes back and kills the 2 and gets his telvar back and the other 2 keep the remaining and bank it
4. repeat

some input from zos would be help full as i found no posts about this subject

    I would think you'd only recover the Tel Var Stones off the character you killed. You wouldn't recover the full amount if your cache had been split up, unless there's some specific revenge system I've never heard about.

    Huh? I'm confused where any duping is occurring. Where in the cycle is the amount of telvar supposedly increasing, because I'm like 95%+ sure that telvar multipliers only work for telvar from mobs, not players.
    And if you're saying that each of the 2 players get 1/2 of his telvar, it's more like that 1/2 gets evenly divided.

    If he dues with 10k you each get 2.5k. Now the player that died has 5k and each of you 2.5k. He kills one of you, he gets 1.25k leaving him with 6.25k you 2.5k and your bud 1.25k.

    There is no TV multiplier on players afaik

    This is correct.

    You only get tel var multipliers from mobs ... not enemy players.

    If your group kills an enemy player, the group shares 50% of the enemy player's carried tel var (regardless of their multiplier or your multiplier).

    Please do a forums search before starting a new thread ...

    Nope. The person killed will lose 50% of what they had and the killer gets that 50%. If they are in a group, that 50% is split amongst the group members.

    This is why the lol button needs to come back..

    I could kill a player with 1 million plus telvar on them and it still wouldn't be banable .. there is no such thing in a pvp zone.

    He wasn't asking if the act of killing was bannable, but rather that there was to duplicate TVs and if THAT would be bannable, but seeing as there isn't a way it's moot

    Side note: the reality may be weird enough for most people, but I always find it's more fun to make things even weirder than the reality.

    Who carries around 30k Tel Var Stones? Seriously; go to the bank. Also, I am confused on how you could be dupping; or is there some bug that needs to be reported?

    Anyone glowing blue is wearing the Imperial Physic set and needs to carry at least 10k Tv to get the 600% buff to their attributes....

    Thus, gank them lol

    Just for this comment the "LOL"button should rightly come back...or maybe a LTR (learn to read) button at the very least.

    You cannot dupe telvars. Only items that were dupped in the past, were certain higher value items that people were multiplying with the help of bugged guildbanks. Nowadays it's fixed, but some players were allowed to keep their hard earned stuff unfortunately. ;)

    Killing a player does not make tel var out of thin air. Whatever tel var the play had is the max amount that is redistributed. There is no duping going on.

    If OP is on Xbox then yes it is bannable to kill anyone with Tel Var on them so OP should be fearless and never bank Tel Var...
