Trying to log into the game all we get is : 'this may be an unusually long load time'

When we do get in and then get killed or have to exit a room into the world of Wrothgar we end up with : 'this may be an unusually long load time'

This is ever increasing, started to happen a lot just after the most resent update, now its been days since we have been able to play the game properly having only got the odd 5-10 minutes before we have to leave a building and it happens again, does not happen going into a building..

Also never happened EVER before last update!
If anything it's getting worse, have tried leaving the XBOX on for 4 hours waiting for it to load, still no joy, after switching off the XBOX and even reseting the ADSL line to the house, we often cannot even load the character as that seems to just be waiting for information from the servers! then after switching the XBOX on and off again a few times, we often get back to the 'this may be an unusually long load time' and just a icon at the bottom of the screen turning away...

We are basically stuck in 'Wrothgar', I have tried it using any of the 4 XBOX's we have here in the house and all are doing the same, tried contacting a few friends who also have ESO, and all but one of them has the same problem ever since the last update!

I have contacted out service provider and they have done speed checks on the ADSL line and all is fine, they have even been to the house and checked it from this end and everything is fine. we can access the internet without any delays, we have tried downloading large files from both Microsoft and Autodesk and all complete without errors in the normal time periods.

The problem seems to be at the server end as it is only affecting this game and no others.

On the VERY odd occasion that I have managed to load the game, I have noticed something that may be of use, it seems to only happen when you are going out of a building, i.e. trying to exit scarp keep to the town of Osinium, has never happened going into a building, but just when you get the load screen for Wrothgar itself.

I then either leave it, and have many times up to around 4 hours, or just switch off the XBOX and then wait a bit and re-switch it on, but even doing this takes around 10-20 times before I manage to get it to load, then I can play the game for about 10 minutes, but when coming out of a building or a wayshrine it seems to then have this issue...

Is this a BUG?

    I have the exact same scenario, since the "update" was done last week. Every single evening since I have been unable to play. Again, tried to log in now, I get to the character select screen... when I click on "Play" the little circle just keeps turning until I'm kicked to the login screen with " An error has occured. Please try again after a while. ".

    Early in the day I might get lucky and actually login, but then I will play for about 10 to 30 minutes, with lag spikes, and suddenly get kicked to the login screen again. I don't dare doing anything group related.

    I am frustrated as hell, as I have had NO chance to participate in the Xmas event yet. I am finally on work leave having looked forward to playing some ESO. But no. Since last week's patch my game has been ruined.

    And I have invested in this game. I have purchased Orsinium, and Imperial City. So I don't just want to leave the game and find another MMO to play. I have gone from watching the Crown Store daily (was hoping to get more DLC for my holidays), to just checking whether or not I can log in, and for how long before I'm kicked to login.

    I have been pretty neutral, and it some cases defensive of ZOS, but since this last update (where I swear it seems that they only removed some servers) its a nightmare.

    Yep happening here too. I started a thread about it a few days ago saying that the long load times are not unusual

    Yeah... I bought the game yesterday and have had nothing but trouble. I very frequently get endless loading screens and sometimes get stuck on "requesting character load". I haven't been able to play the game properly yet. The worst thing is that ZOS don't seem to give a ***.

    I either get stuck on the character request load screen, or if I'm extremely lucky and it lets me load a character, which is about 1 in 15 attempts of turning the Xbox off and on because just crashes with no way back, or as soon as I start and go somewhere that involves another load screen, the exact same thing happens only this time it says may be an unusually long load time. Which is blatant b£ll$£it because it's now not unusual it's usual.
    And yes it's only since the last update

    This is getting worse, I have not even been able to load the character, let alone get to the Wrothgar loading screen... Getting very Pi$$ed off with this game, would not mind but spent a small fortune on crowns, etc. certainly wont be spending any more till they upgrade their servers, bet there running Microsoft OS's....

    Since December 19th at 10:34am I have logged the following:

    Attempted Logins: 162
    Successful Logins: 4 (Only to be left hanging after the maximum time of 12min when visiting either Wrothgar or Greenshade)
    Unable to login to Character: 23
    Unable to load area due to 'This may be an unusually long load time' : 135

    I have now had a new router delivered and installed from my providor, there was nothing wrong with the previous one but they just wanted to check it anyway, I have had to pay for 2 call outs by my providor as there was no problems found which I kind of expected, my download speed is 42mbps which I understand is OK, I can certainly download a full Operating System ISO from Microsoft in under 4 minutes.

    So how can Zenimax call this problem 'normal', not that I have heard back from anyone on support yet, just keep getting the standard, 'if your problem has resolved itself then you dont need to answer this', i.e. if we ignore these problems they will only just go away.

    I am NEVER spending any real money on this game again, I have every one of the series over the year on different platforms, and this one has been the biggest disappointment to date, I would not mind but the complete lack of support really hurts, they are obviously just after money from sales. I called into our local 'GAME' store and explained the problem that I have been having, and they have been telling everyone who buys the game about similar problems to which most dont buy the game, so if I see this problem, staff at the local store have come across the problem to such a level that they are putting off people from purchasing the game in the first place, then why isn't someone at Zenimax actually bothering to do something about it....

    Don't you just love ESO Support, this problem has got worse since the new year, now cannot even log into at all, just keeps stating 'This may be an unusual long load time', I have tried ESO Support ticket but they have closed my issue and wont let me reopen it even though its not fixed...

    Im having the same problem, its been going on since before christmas and is getting worse. Im able to log
    into the game but when i go to travel to another location i get stuck on the loading screen saying it may be
    an unusualy long load time, im currently trying to go from the thieves guild to shadowfen and not getting
    anywhere. Please let us know that your working to resolve this. Its such a great game but its currently
    unplayable. Thanks.

    So it appears that they have fixed the Wrothgar/Greenshade/Rift/Alik'r loading problem, but it has simply moved to Shadowfen and Daggerfall Outlaws Refuge (that I know of so far. the DOR only started playing up today.)

    Not sure what to say. Also, I am seeing a LOT of "unable to connect to game server" for the XBox. I have just been DC'd twice in 10 minutes.

    The problems do seem to have moved, though I am now stuck in Auridon, been trying to get in now for 2 days, keep having to restart the XBox, have tried clearing the Cache, Mac Addrerss, but still no joy, other online games such as TitanFall etc load and play fine, but ESO is just getting worse, support is complete non-existent, they even closed my last support call without giving me a solution even though it was marked as 'Solved' which it wasn't..

    Would not mind if they would just hold there hands up and say, yep its our bag, we need bigger servers or internet pipes to handle the traffic, etc, but they just give out standard replies which just dont help.

    Called a few mates to see if they have the same issues, and all of them have the same problems, starting to think I sould go back to Oblivion and Skyrim and cut my losses, but spent quite a bit of money on this and I doubt there any way of getting any of that back...
