Should players be allowed to steal from your house?

Should people visiting your house, should they be allowed to steal from you? Example, I sneak into your house and steal the 200 kutas that you stashed since it was taking up too much inventory space. So should a player be allowed to steal it from you? Possible Thieves Guild DLC extension, PvP stealing? Remember, this is an MMORPG, its not a single player game.

Smh. There is no storage in the houses. Besides that, how exactly would you get into someone's house if you didn't know them? They're instanced. You want to steal your friend or guildies couch?

If its like EQ2 housing, you'll basically have a long list and someone randomly picks your house, and decides its stealing time!

Trust me, there will be a list full of houses to visit.

How will you sneak into an instanced house without knowing the person? If you know the person and then steal the 200 kutas you're just pathetic.

Also the poll options are incorrect. There is no storage, yet...

I agree with the other responses.

You can't put anything in your house except for specially created decorations and a small number of collection items like mounts and pets. Therefore there would be almost nothing there to steal.

Secondly housing is instanced and each person can choose who is allowed to visit. If there was a risk of stealing all players would simply set their house to not allow visitors (or only allow a few designated friends) to avoid it.

You can allow/deny everyone, or allow/deny on a per-person basis. Which I suppose is similar to the way guild banks work.

But the idea of buying furnishings for crowns (or gold) and ZOS allowing someone to steal from your house would be pretty outrageous.

If you want to steal from other players you should probably go play Eve.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

    Absolutely!
in addition to that we will need guards!
hired Guards from the town hall. and maybe someday we can even get other people to sit in place of NPC guards, and be Guards themselves like the justice system was spose to allow ?

Lemme get this straight; you love thieves so much in real life, you wanna inject them into ESO?

No, but not for the reason you have here. Stealing is a major part of all Elder Scrolls games, including this one. Up until ESO they were all single player games, so there was no need for theft limitations. There should never be a system that allows people to steal from other players. Especially since so many home goods will be purchased with crowns, it would be taking, without permission, something bought with real money. Few reasonable people would support a game that allowed that.

This is not that kind of game.

This game is almost on the exact opposite of the hardcore<-->casual spectrum from the kind that would allow that to be.

However, I might reconsider but only on one condition.

Every time you attempt to or successfully steal some item out of my home I get to zap you with the Wabbajack and the effects last a full 24 hours.

    Not a chance.

Well ... not without a full loot PVP campaign instituted first. A campaign, by the way, that would solve every proc set imbalance issue this game ever had. Go ahead and wear your full gold gear with your monster set in a full loot campaign ... I dare you.

Do you really think it's gonna be a good experience for the home owner when they randomly lose 200 Kuta? That would just suck.

If this was ever a thing, it would have to replicate thieving from a NPC house, where you can steal from containers in a player's home but it's just random items (same as current Justice system activities). Besides, we can't store our own items in our houses anyway.

    But either way, no.

If this were to happen, i just wouldn't get a house. Not a good way to entice people to buy, especially if they make them available from the crown store.
