Then you'll see what kind of player the OP is and that this thread is just click-bait. And yes I've contributed like you are right now reading this.

This isn't click bait. I've done some click bait threads before but never did any troll threads because it is against community guidelines. This is just a rant and you can call it whining if you want to because in reality that's what it is.

So all your answers except #3 was if you can't beat them join them. #3 Is the best answer. I just turn of zone chat and play game like a single player TES. game. Even some of the guilds lately are so full morons i can't be bothered anymore. I really miss the days when mmo's weren't mainstream games.

Honestly, they exist in every online game, on every server, on every platform. Ignore those that's toxic, problem solved.

Although. I got the impression that you do not acknowledge the distinction between ingame-toxicity(permablocking noob!!!!!)(Which is natural in a competitive environment) and rl-attacks(I hope you die of cancer, you **** ****** burn in ****).

The latter => no-go. Reportable & Bannable offence, imo. As RL got nothing to do with the game.
The first => Charming. Let people get their toxicity out. It doesn't matter, just block if it's too bad. They're just frustrated about ingame stuff.

Get rid of the RL-hate, keep the ingame-rage. Ingame-rage is fun. RL-hate is not.

It is a luck of the draw kinda thing. I'm on personal computer and I am a devout Ebonheart Pact Dunmer (well, devout might be pushing it but anyway...) and every time I go thru Davon's Watch and see someone yell, "help me with crab" or w/e I try to run over on my lvl50 Templar and heal assist. But I cannot be there for billions of people so just that one lucky guy/gals got my attention. But my god the way they jump around, scream for joy, you'd a thot Jesus hisself showed up to heal them. Maybe it's because I play off hours at low pop?

It's a luck of the draw thingy. If chat goes hostile on you just ignore them. Trolls abound everywhere, not just in this game. It is a sick silly thing young folk go about doing these days. Don't take their talk seriously.

The nice thing about the internet is if you don't like the hostiles you can just walk. You are not facing them down a gun barrel like the "good ol days." Try again another day, or even hour later, you'll find kind MATURE people do exist and will hear you out.

Blocking on PS4 needs to be patched because I can still see what they're saying when I log out and log back in it resets. The level 6 that I was on I blocked him, logged onto my 561 nightblade and then I saw him message me "headache". I need a glass of water to cleanse the salt that I taste from my mouth.

In my experience, it's actually not that bad, at least not compared to a MOBA, where you're trapped on a team with 5 people, and the fate of the whole match can be decided by one inexperienced player. That type of gameplay brings out the most toxic people.

Sometimes, though, dungeons can get pretty bad. But zone chat? The worst I've seen are people arguing about RL politics, and when they do that, I just close zone chat.

It's one of the least toxic communities I've played in, and the toxicity is relatively easy to avoid.

I agree that there are a lot of toxicity going on, particularly on text chats in zone and, at times, in guilds. But, what a load of crap and assumption on EP. How do you base on those, that are supposedly bashing/slamming on you, are EP? Just because you are in the Stonefalls area or the EP side of the map, it doesn't mean those could have been EP folks. These kind of bashing on new players (or noobs; whatever the term being used is) are happening in all areas of zone text and voice chats from all alliances, even against players of the other alliances, particularly in Craglorn. Sorry, you had a bad experience, and slamming on new or lower level players is a crap and immature thing to do. I'm not much of a sensitive guy or have thin skin, but I don't even like that term, noob. It just condescending on new players and makes the other more of an elitist attitude. Nature of the beast in MMO.

Just because you are a certain alliance doesn't make you better than the others, or if you belong to a certain alliance, that doesn't make you all good people. I get you, though. It's human nature to feel bad when being belittled or bash by someone else. People are people. So, there are negative and positive people within this game, within any alliance. Those people/players that bash on new players.. don't they realized they were new players to this when they started. Yes, toxicity and similar going on in text chats, is reason I have since turn off the text chat option. Also, due to so many negative people/players in ESO is reason I often solo dungeon/pledges just to get the key and solo many other PvE contents.

Please, do not mind the occasional groups of drunken nords, that's normal in the Ebonhearth Pact, but if you're really pissed, go to those dark elf cultists that stays 24/7 on their temples in funny robes, or you can go to Black Marsh, but never try to lick their big trees.

@GreenhaloX Well the reason is because I've been in many EP guilds and every single one I've been in have been major elitists. They always call Yellows "Yellow f***ots!" and tea bag everything they kill, then when I was on an EP character and I ask a question some random player will call me an inbred or tell my "kys". I never had that same experience with AD or DC.

@EldritchPenguin *cough* GTA *cough* call of duty on Xbox *cough* every game that involves players...

Now let's move onto PvP. Oh boy I have to literally turn the zone chat off every now and then because I get so sick and tired of hearing players call each other scrubs and talk about exposing them on their Youtube channel. Just today I walked up to a guy (never met this guy before ever) and asked him if he could spare a vampire bite and then he starts saying "1v1 me scrub so I can expose you on my Youtube channel". Again never met this guy before and he is being really rude to me. I don't go full trigger mode in this instance. The worst part is I was on a level 6 character so yeah he just makes himself look even worse. I didn't mind shadow of hists because I did not have to deal with EP and their shenanigans.

I've played this game since about a month after it came out on consoles. I wish I would have played on PC because I sometimes get the feeling that their aren't as many people like this. I'm beginning to find more posts like this so I just wanted to express my frustration. I personally do not like this update and them merging alliances but some people do. I really like that they added 18 more armor sets even though like 12 of them are really useless.

It could also be a console thing. In my days of playing Xbox live I have meant countless itiots, a lot of kids and teens that don't shut up

The PC community in general is probably more adults and teens, I have really not got as much of the Xbox moron attitudes here on PC IN gaming, I play Ebon heart, just my guess

I play on Na PC since the launch. EP in general is the same here. There are a few really nice people of course. But i deleted my ep character long ago and have 12 characters no ep.

It's not any kind of hate thing I don't care enough to have any feelings. I am an older player I don't care what people say in chat or zone or whispers... makes me laugh. Just seems like there a lot of younger players who played too much Skyrim.

I do have some EP friends and I like them a lot but stick to the pve portions of the game... thanks to TU.

The first day One Tamriel hit live, I went over to Vulkhel Guard and in zone, said "Hello Dominion peoples!" And my first reply was a very nice, "F&$% off."

I think that guy is just being sarcastic. The one saying "AD is mature adults".

So one incident in Stone Falls and you feel that is enough evidence to generalize the entire Ebonheart Pact as edgy teenagers with no respect for others?

I should share some of the conversations I've seen in Auridon. You don't go into much detail about what was said - but I bet they are tame by comparison

It's not unusual to have a few trolls hanging out in the starter zones to amuse themselves at the expense of new players. You see that in all factions (and all MMORPGs).
