Want to work in zenimax

You'll be surprised to know that working as a game tester is not even close to the fun of just playing it. Unless you love the testing job.
I used to be an adventurer like you, then I got the ESO on my hard drive...

Lol one of the messages on the loading screens is something about Zenimax players having the Z on their names.... i have NEVER ever seen one.

To clarify what this loading screen message means, when a ZeniMax employee is on their normal play account, they don't look any different or have any different settings or permissions than any other player. We play the game alongside all of you every day. :) If a ZeniMax is on a "work account" though, such as a Support Team member and they're helping with Support tickets, you will see the "Z" next to their name. So, you will only see a "Z" next to a name if it's a ZOS employee on a work account. Normally, we're in-game on our "play accounts" and look like any other player.

Cool.. so they are experiencing some of the same issues (i.e. lag, lag and more lags, particularly during combat; to name a few) and hopefully they are bringing these notable issues up during some of the weekly ZOS/Zen meeting or get together, right? Also, I wonder how they deal with running into those nasty egotistical (elitist type) players? I'm sure they are not one of those.. hmmm
Guess not because they would probably play at very short distances to the megaservers, with rocket PCs, probably with access to unknown tweaking settings...

Heck, they could even have access to an alpha version (a closed version of a software that exists before the BETA - orly - restricted to developers/employees of a developing company) with additional fixes (pretty much an unofficial patch)

But this is probably by inner conspiracy speaking...

An Alpha build is a basic, unfinished version of the game. Why on earth would they build fixes into the Alpha and then not use them in later builds?

Unless by 'fix' you're thinking the computer equivalent of duct tape. Like a 'cheat code' to allow you to skip past a broken step in a quest or to insta-kill a boss which is bugged and can't be killed. Things that no sane developer would use in the finished game because they make for terrible gameplay.

We did have a couple of our QA guys on our last episode of ESO Live discussing some of the work they do here, which you all may find interesting. The discussion begins around the 11 minute mark: https://www.twitch.tv/zenimaxonlinestudios/v/83265692

Also, while many of the ESO devs play the game, we all prefer to do so anonymously; there is no Z-marker in front of our names. You may have grouped with a dev in a dungeon and not even known it!

I knew it!! I knew that stamina nightblade was dev. He was keep saying "guys did you check crown store? new items are awesome"

I'd love to see the other side of the story. The real reasons for the decisions that just seem plain odd or counter intuitive to the community.

I'd love to see how ZOS playtests their own game. Do they understand PvE/PvP the way we do? Have their playtesters beaten maelstrom? Have their playtesters gotten grand overload in PvP. Do they even have playtesters?

Nope, their playtesters got nerfed in one of the last patches.

    Ask yourself this question:
Have you EVER seen a person ingame with the zenimax logo next to their name, I havent and have played this game since beta.. so question answered..

I think they do play in-game though. They probably play/work as if they're like the rest of us, and can toggle to a ZOS handle as needed to resolve in-game issues. I mean, I can think of a few reasons why I wouldn't want to advertise being a ESO game-master in-game, since they're like cops.

When we drive down the highway and see a police car, we instinctively check our speed and behave, until we're out of the car's view (hopefully) before going back to whatever questionable behavior we were doing prior. Toggling ZOS from their name would help them catch bots, people breaking rules or exploiting, and generally keep fan-boi/gurl from mindlessly following them begging for small favors.

Unfinished or simply not ready for Beta

Yes and no. Of course, a "cheating console" while developing a game might be useful to quickly adjust enemy data before actually publish it. it's faster than add data, test, shutdown, change data, rinse and repeat.

But with fixes I meant literally stuff they fixed but that's not published or released as Beta yet because they're still testing all case scenarios involving it to check if the fix really fixed what it should. but this is the rarest of scenarios.
