What's the point of housing? No interaction with objects, no storage etc...

So I wonder what's the point of buying a house? There isn't even a storage, you can't interact with the bed, chairs, etc...
Yh is cool that we can craft there but, there are crafting stations in every maps, why should I spend any gold or crowns buying one for that?
I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, I just don't get the deal with housing like that...
I know it might be silly but me personally, I would get annoyed by not being able to Lay down or use the chairs or interact with other objects... Chests/storage are not even in the housing system... :/

Tbh, I was hoping I could store my [DWEMER RED MOUNTAIN STANDARD] there...

    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

I feel the same. Ok, so we don't have storage, but I figure they could have at least allowed us to store / display all those unique trophies and collectibles that you cannot deposit into your bank or trade in anycase.

Lights, lorebooks, and chairs are already intractable. I'm not sure what else is, though.

You can interact with lights , chairs , crafting stations , DPS dummies and the deco of course . Once storage is added it will have more meaning for players not concerned with RP .

I am sure more things will become interactive as time goes by but i just like the idea of having my own private crafting area.

I see... Thanks for the answers!
I guess I won't be buying any for while... (Till it gets more interactions at least)
Would be fun for while decoring it but after I'm done doing it would be really boring since I wouldn't be able to interact with most objects in the house, it still far from skyrim housing... About crating, well, there are houndreds in tamriel, I can just tp to one easily, I'm not going to spend crowns only for that ^^

Why not just get a decent home for crafting stations and instead of having to use a waypoint you will be able to just travel to your home, your saving yourself tons of time considering houses are account bound, who knows they may even let you have a bank area as well in the near future.

Well there is the added convenience of having crafting tables styled to the sets you use most all at one location instead of having to ride from a wayshrine to the particular crafting area.

There's three freebie rooms, and you can port to them from anywhere. So, the actual advantages of the system are open to everyone. You only have to pay if you want large houses.

Well, for me if there is something already free that I can use, and doesn't bother me there's no need to spend my money... I'm not a big crafter anyway and I'm not so ''anti-social'' to dislike the idea of people around while I'm crafting something...
Housing is really a cool thing, I love the concept but wihout the things I said, for me its kind pointless in my perception... After I'm done decoring what else excluding crafting would I do there? I probably won't stay there for more than 2 minutes or so since there wouldn't be a point, if I could use the chests that would be really different, interact with bed and stuff would be fun, but that's not implemented yet, and we are only ''suposing'' that they will add these things in a near future and they might not... If they had said that from their own months I would buy it and wait till they implement these things but since is a new update I don't think we will get any of that so soon even an anwer about if they will or not implement...
For me at least housing will be boring and maybe annoying after sometime..

Housing is a personal thing I think. Many people who play MMOs love to have their own part of the world that they can call their own and decorate it etc. It doesn't appeal to me, but I can see why others would like it.

I played Archeage for over 3 years (even korean beta)
and I loved the housing there, I could plant around and docor, place stuff, had few chests etc... Used to spend lot time there, even to afk I used to go to my house and lay down on the bed or just sit in a near chair... Used to download housing mods to skyrim too haha... So my point is, I like housing but I don't see a good reason to buy one in the current state, isn't even near to Archeage housing or any other game I know... Decoring is nice, but after?... Would be a shame to buy a nice looking house just to use as a tp or use crafting station (I barely craft stuff) and I wouldn't have anything else to do in my house after I finish decoring :/

Oh I see, man I do recommend you try some crafting its a big part of the game plus a good way to make some money, I recommend something universal like provisioning, plus you feel like you support your groups more by giving out food.

oh, thanks I'll search more about crafting then, I just started playing ESO, bought the game 8 months ago with +8 months eso plus, the hype got me... I didn't even play and wasted 7 months of eso plus lol and since I have 1 month left decided to come back and try again... Well I didn't liked the game at the time, was waaay different from what I expected but after I started playing changed my mind... Well I got to learn alot yet, that's probably the reason I don't get buying house just for crafting.. ://

If i understand correctly the crafters should love this. They get to put (as an example) Julianos clothing crafting station in their house and right next to it twice born star etc etc. It will make their traveling a lot less.

That is how I understood it but could be wrong.

I'm going to buy one purely for a DPS dummy.

Think my guild will buy a manor. Not sure what we'll do with it though. Duels I guess?

For guild we are thinking crafting will be handy. We have several nine trait crafters but a couple of them have most of the motifs so we are thinking set up the crafting for them.
