Seems to me this is SoL. Customer support can't do anything, they started to send me a ridiculously sounding auto-response every time: "If you have not been able to find a resolution to your issue, please respond back to this email so we can continue to assist you". Google doesn't help either - suggests this is a routing problem. Well, why can I play every other online game with servers in EU then? I can provide sniffed packets between my machine and ESO servers to an actual dev, if some actual dev is interested, which is unlikely. What other options I have?

It is a routing problem I think - after all I've tried (different PCs and accounts on same ISP) - only with a paid VPN trial which gave me a Hong Kong IP I could log in.

So, maybe someone can offer an advice for a cheap/free VPN/rerouting solution? Or maybe something can be done without an external to my ISP machine?

I can log into the character selection screen but can't log into the game either after the client updated. Guess I'll have to try repair. NA server btw.
Solo PvP and PvE most of the time.

Only a VPN will fix the issue.

Have the same problem for several weeks now.
First support reply didn't help and the second one was just a stupid auto response.
I'm honestly sick and tired of always having somekind of problem with this game.
And the worst thing is, I just bought a long subscription 2 days before this hassle started - this money gets more wasted with every day I can't play.

I've managed to get OpenVPN running on my friend's small server machine and been playing without issues for some days. Different route through different ISP even in the same city helps.

Did you run a packet capture when trying to log in? See any re-transmissions from one of the Zenimax addresses 198.20.200.*?

198.20.200.* is NA, I'm playing on EU. And packet capture cannot show the route of a packet afaik - traceroute works by changing TTL of pings. My previous route was definitely longer and included some "unpingable" servers.

My apologies I did not catch that you play in the EU even though it is clearly stated. What range of addresses does the EU ESO server use and what are you currently using for packet capturing? Suppose I could just switch over to EU and have a look myself.

It's 159.100.232.* and I was using Microsoft Network Monitor (it can filter packets by application). Didn't look into packets themselves, the exchange is quite complex. I presume something doesn't come back through.

Running Wireshark here, I'll hop on to the EU server tomorrow and see if I can track down some addresses to test out.

    *Edit*

Hopped onto the EU server real quick for a short test. IP addresses 159.100.232.139 & 159.100.232.107 look like they may be causing some issues, may want to try blocking them to see if it fixes anything. Will run a more thorough packet collect tomorrow.

Tried to block these - nothing changed. I don't understand how this would work. Something (load balancer I think) assigns a game server IP for me I hit "Play" on character screen. The server IP is different every time, I've seen .135, .148, .150 etc. None of which answer the 765 byte packet client sends initially if I'm using my ISP route which hops over my country like crazy over 15 jumps, while different ISP route is only 11 jumps and leaves my coutry almost immediately (and everything works).

Wonder if your isp is shaping traffic or manipulating it in some way. Would you be opposed to downloading wireshark and running a capture? Duplicate acks and retransmissions should show up in black as default.

Not having much luck testing on EU, the connections seem incredibly stable in comparison to NA. In fact the latency is on par, sometimes even better and I live in Canada. Did find a few more addresses and also noticed the login server address is on a totally different subnet.
