I'm pretty happy to be honest! I actually haven't been this excited about a patch in ESO since IC.

It's appearing like many are not happy but let's try some numbers.

I'm happy with housing and I am willing to test the balance changes on the PTS :)
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

The balance changes were okay, but they could be a lot better. Also, I think they need to make the Destro taunt part of a different ability. Hell, make it the side effect of the Frost Destructive Reach. Putting it on heavy attacks is just goofy and sounds poorly thought out.

Housing sounds cool, but I'm at the stage in the game where all of my gold is going toward trying to get good gearstuffs.

I like the majority of changes but I think they still missed on a few things like heavy armor it's still to attractive and proc sets could still be an issue for PvP. Hopefully they still make adjustments over the next few weeks as things always change I'd say everything a new patch hits.

We have literally not been able to begin testing the balance changes at all, so while I like and dislike certain things in theory, I am strongly reserving judgement until good and thorough, number-intensive testing has been done.

The housing of course is delightful and while I must also test that thoroughly, I don't feel presumptuous saying that it's going to be top-notch based on what we already know.

The balance changes, I'm pretty neutral on, but the housing...

Am I the only one who is way too excited about the prospect of placing chairs and then actually sitting in them?
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

It was just "meh" all around. I don't really care about housing and was hoping to see things happen in the balance patch but was sorely disappointed. I've been a heavy armor user and I would be ok with an adjustment on that so long as proc set stacking was adjusted at the same time in a meaningful way (IE not crit)

My build was hit in surprising ways and thats kind of disappointing, but I will figure something out that I can work with.

I'm happy about a lot more than I originally though I would be. I didn't think I would get excited about housing, especially withouy additional storage. But here I am excited for it.

The combat stuff doesn't bother me so much. If I do a little less dps then so be it and if I do a lot less dps... then so be it. Maybe my attitude would be different if I was more competitive or a better player, but honestly the ones who are will still be fine.

Basically no "slam dunks", but a lot of stuff to make the game a bit more fair and interesting.

They promised to fix Viper being proced off of other Poisons, so that one thing is good for me. Combined with the no Crit on Procs, this will make Viper in PvP a little less OP.

I'm glad to see they didn't completely destroy Stam Sorc and Hurricane - just a very large damage reduction to a skill that was pretty OP. But the way I use it on my characters it will still be usefull.

The Frost staff changes will be interesting. I'm looking forward to trying out this new Magica Tank Meta. Might be a complete fail, but at least it's something different to try out. I like trying unique builds that most people don't understand.

Also looking forward to the DK changes. I have an a MagDK at level 40, so it will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Just the housing, of course. The balance changes are ridiculous. They cater more to hyper-competitive people, and that's just going to mean more and more toxicity for ESO! ESO edges bit by bit toward becoming more like League of Legends, and every change they make to appeal to hyper-competitive people draws in the sociopaths. The sociopaths alienate the casuals, and the casuals leave. With the casuals -- who make up 99 per cent of the community -- now absent, the game is a ghost town. Soon after, it dies.

The story of Champions Online, Battleborn, and many other MMOs and online games. A story that's been repeated so many times. They really could have taken this opportunity to balance for a more casual game, to alienate the tiny hyper-competitive niche they have in favour of drawing in thousands upon thousands of more casual players. They could have, they didn't. So I don't see ESO being around for long.

Housing is nice, though. That's likely to keep me around for a bit, so that's a good change. I don't like how they keep balancing for hyper-competitive people, though. So many MMOs did the same thing and died. I'm tired of seeing games I like die. It's wearying and tiresome. Hooray for mismanagement, I guess.

    Still, housing is nice.

God, I love false flag operations. They're hilarious. You're clearly a competitive PvP player who's happy about this. Pretending to be an average PvE player isn't going to really fool anyone. People aren't as blissfully ignorant and blind as you think they are, it's really patronising of you to even believe that.

The problem is is that this is symbolic. It's a matter of PvE being altered to suit PvP just because hyper-competitive people are upset. It's a slippery slope. It's one that's doomed many MMOs before it, and while this one may be next, it probably won't be the last thanks to incredibly manipulative people who're not a whole lot unlike yourself.

Really, if this isn't a false flag operation, why would you even mention 'competitive?' That wasn't a smart move, it was an obvious contradiction that stood out to me like a sore thumb.

Edit: Also, you won't mind if they change it back, right? If you really don't care. But of course you care.

    "Other"

I'm kind of "meh" about it.

I like the Housing if it stays the way it is listed in the PTS notes.

The change to Radiant Destruction kind of makes me think "why?". It's only being decreased by 21%, so it's not too bad of a hit, but this MUST be a PvP-oriented change. I never PvP, and neither do any of my friends, but we've never once heard of someone in the PvE side saying: "I like Radiant Destruction, but it's too OP. It needs a reduction in damage to be REALLY useful...".

Again, more PvP changes that they don't seem to have the ability to separate from the PvE side. (at least, that's the way it seems)

The changes to the Pets for Sorcerer's will be popular with my wife and her Sorcerers. But even then, it seems that they could have done more to beef them up a bit more. But this change to the pets will be well received.

I don't use that particular morph for Cloud of Bats, I use the Healing one. But be prepared for Vampires to be teleporting everywhere and the crying to ensue shortly.

But I think my biggest gripe still goes back to the fact that PvE players (by far the largest segment of the games populace) keep getting hit with needless changes. Do the Devs want us to stand out in the open and continuously get owned in the face by every creature in the game? Where's the problem with melting enemies, especially when one is sitting on 558 CP?

There was no call for any reductions to damage in PvE of any sort, so why do we keep getting hit with them? I blame Developer incompetence.

The changes to Dragon Knight and NightBlade don't affect me, but doesn't it seem like Nightblades are losing a bit of healing? Not really sure, I didn't read them that closely since I don't have either one of those classes.

So, yeah... I'm "meh" about the changes.
