DLC would be fine. Maybe releasing sections of it at a time rather then the whole thing at once. This would enable more detail.

Though one has to remember that even so it is probably not like what people saw in Morrowind. We are after all several centuries before the period of time Morrowind is set in. It seemed to me also that before the Empire created by the Septim line that Morrowind was not a part of the Empire they were thinking about joining when the empire fell apart. So many of the things that were noted and enjoyed during the game Morrowind may not exist as of yet. I seem to remember that for the most part it was held as a Tribunal sanctuary and pilgrims were about the only people that were there along with a few groups sanctioned by the Tribunal. Just think it might not be at all what people remember.

Do you want expansions or DLCs; sounds like an entire new thread. Did you play Morrowind; sounds like a poll.

I never played Morrowind. No idea what you are reminiscing about. I'm a Forgotten Realms fan. I relate Dunmer to drow. Which is worthy of it's own thread. Starting something like: A dark elf is a dark elf is a dark elf no matter where he be. Like hobbits/halflings are always tiny little thieves.

If this content you speak of means more black skinned pointed earned brethren I'm in.

@mlstevens42_ESO The last of the Reman dynasty was busy trying to conquer them; that's how at least one of those emperors died.

Would be pretty amazing as an expansion, if we saw things send vibrations out through the game. See Mephala's minions competing with Molag Bal's in the open world, some new mechanics or crafts spreading throughout Tamriel, the Warden class perhaps, dungeons/trial on the landmass itself, a map that rivals/topples Orsinium in depth and beauty that would perhaps contain some references to events of the future in Morrowind spiced in (like perhaps if a character in Morrowind mentions an ancient ancestor, we meet that ancestor in person here and there?).

They've certainly had a lot of time to work on assets for it, how many patches are we going now where the most noteworthy new things are monster sets that were already designed, and some armor sets that generally use visual assets that already existed?

Yes I realize they had been fighting but there were some talks going on when the emperor met a Morag Tong's blade. Or so it is said. It is part of the reason that in this time the Tong is not in the tribunal's good graces if I remember rightly. Of course it has been many years and memory may be faulty. It seemed it was 2920 book 12 but might be wrong on that. Further it is hard to say how accurate any given book is.

That'd be amazing, I can't wait to see Vvardenfell. That said I'd expect a DLC rather than expansion. Though it would be nice to have Vvardenfell the same size as it was in morrowind.

    And it's Var-den-fell

To a point, I'd agree. However, if Vvardenfell is going to be anything like the right size, surely even an Orsinium sized DLC isn't going to hold it.

I would rather them go for an Expansion, include all of the required elements and areas and get it right than try and pare it down to fit.

Vvardenfell is a risk, it has to be executed well, as so many of us have such fond memories of it. Done badly, or cheaply, it may well backfire to ESO and ZOS's detriment.

...also, I have no problem paying for actual content rather than gamble crates.

True. An expansion sized location would be better. But I think we need to reel our expectations in a little. ZOS did amazing work with the Gold Coast in Dark Brotherhood but Vvardenfell is a different kind of beast. Technology has advanced to a point since morrowind where a direct recreation would look visually... unappealing. There's a lot of extra fauna and such that needs to be added and that alone may make the landscape look completely different.
Then there's the music, morrowind only had a few tracks, but each one was iconic and an instant classic and I would imagine ZOS will be having those sounds recreated in ESO's style rather than ported.

It's a lot to get right and I admire ZOS for taking such a risk in recreating what is arguably the most loved landmass in the elder scrolls franchise.

Personally even if it doesn't hit my nostalgia bell I'll still probably like it since I like elder scrolls online's content, but others who might be expecting a complete recreation of the Vvardenfell they know and love might be disappointed.
Desperate for Roleplaying servers to bring open world non-organised RP to Elder Scrolls Online. Please ZOS.

There is evidence that ZOS is working on making the entire island of Vvardenfell to be a zone, which would make it on par if not larger than Orsinium was. I'd call that a bit of an expansion. But judging by how much that Elk costs I wouldn't be surprised if they charged us a limb for this.

Oh yes, because the people who happen to act stupid in stonefalls chat MUST all be morrowind fans. And Morrowind is a great game; just because you didn't like it doesn't make it okay to to look down on those who do.

Morrowind is one of the all time greats. Before Morrowind my definition of RPG was Final Fantasy games. Now don't get me wrong, the classic FF games are still to this day legendary. But Morrowind blew me away. It really put me in the role of this individual exploring and interacting with a massive world (well massive for its time).

If there was a candle or lantern on a table, you could pick it up and use it for light in a dark ruin or cave. You could pretty much go wherever you wanted when you wanted 99% of the time. All the armors, weapons, books you could read, the potions of levitation. It was awesome.

Kind of a bummer Bethesda chose to make an HD remake of Skyrim and not Morrowind. I know everyone loves Skyrim, but just imagine if they had announced an updated HD remake of Morrowind!

I never had the pleasure to play Morrowind. What is the Warden class? How does it compare to the existing classes? Did Morrowind allow any race to play any class? Thanks in advance for the information. And I hope all of you have a joyous and happy new year 2017.

    Morrowind was similar to Oblivion.

Other Elder Scrolls games didn't have "Active Skills" like ESO does. In Morrowind, there were a ton of skill lines to level up, and you could choose which skill lines in specific would contribute XP (when they increased in level) to your character level. Classes were nothing more than preselected skill lines, and you had the choice to custom pick your skill lines.

In ESO, Warden is the 5th (future) class. There was a time apparantly in pre-Alpha where the Warden class was in-game but thry were removed.

In terms of how they compare to the other classes, we can assume a few things about them due to their datamined skill line names:
    • Green Balance
    • Winter's Embrace
    • Animal Companions

They will have a Cold-based skill line, similar to a Dragonknight's Ardent Flame or a Sorcerer's Storm Calling. They will also have pet summons.

    Hope that helped! :)

adding a 5th class will be the worst new mistake zos could make. this game is not wow or league of legends. this is not a class-centric game, it is a skills-centric game. this means you add new skill lines to change/shake up the games dynamic. this is on top of the fact there is nothing a new class could bring to the table. a new class would merely cause one or more other classes to become obsolete: we already have all the class arch-types needed for balance.

So you just post next years coming DLC the will all most like be DLC all off then and i guess Vvardenfell well 1st DLC after player house and then Clockwork City and i guess those other 3 you post will be small DLC just like the shadows of the hist

I predict that 2017's DLC is:

    Q1: Housing
Q2: Vvardenfell (to coincide with Morrowind's 15th anniversary)
Q3: Clockwork City and Southern Marsh
Q4: Nibenay or the Colovian Highlands. (With Battlegrounds/Arenas)

Murkmire is being heavily reworked I believe, so we won't see that yet.

Mephala's Realm will likely be 2018.

Q4? So far away for bgs I hope that isn't true. Kinda crazy there's been no new pvp content up until this point if you ask me.

Yeah, I don't really see why people want new classes. They should instead add spellcrafting like they planned to.
