Please ZOS, PLEASE!! Get rid of the long range feeding animation for vampires. I'm tired of laughing each time I have to do it.

The proper animation should be this (From the back).

I don't know, I always thought the range feeding animation looked pretty brutal haha. Yeah it's very far fetched but still brutal when you look at your character while the animation is happening haha

Before DB, I would say ZOS can't do it. The Blade of Woe animations show that they can. I would like this to be a thing too.

Maybe not get rid of the first animation. Make the animation that activates change depending on how close you are to the NPC.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

The hoover vacuum blood suction effect is very silly looking. They should at least include an animation of my vampire wiping his face with a napkin after.

I was thinking they could use the same animations they do with the blade of woe except biting. When you activate it shows a little video of you killing the person. But since feeding can be done in combat it wouldn't work since you don't want to get locked into a timed animation.

I believe you can turn the blade of woe animation camera off in the options, no?

It could be the same with the feeding camera.

ESO and Skyrim are two different games. Before the Blade of Woe animations were added, I thought it couldn't be done in ESO because Skyrim resizes characters to make them fit the world and to make animations involving more than one actor possible. ESO doesn't do that. Your character doesn't change sizes to fit anything. Emotes that use props and mounts are resized to fit your character's size instead, and there were no animations including more than one actor where they were "connected" by something.

But to my surprise and happiness, ZOS went and added the Blade of Woe animations, and they did it exceptionally well. I honestly didn't think they would ever add such thing, if not for the different sizes of the characters then because a MMO can't "pause" to finish the animation. They made different animations depending on the height differences, and they added an option to skip the Blade of Woe animations. It's great.

So a better statement is "if it could be done with the Blade of Woe, it can be done with vampire bites".

If you actually read up on the strain of vamp that we have in eso you will see that it mentions that they take no damage in sunlight and are able to control blood. That is why we have the animation, it's strange but it fits in the the pre existing bloodline.

Yeah, the first time I bit someone, I was like "oh good gods.. this is gruesome!" Imagine the sheer sucking force needed to extract blood in a rapid stream from someone's neck without even physically biting them first?!! I just don't even.... >:)

It doesn't mean there shouldn't be a biting animation, in my opinion. I wonder how I can even infect other players if, when I feed on them, I take their blood from afar and that's it.

But yes, the blood stream animation shouldn't be removed. It could stay as the "target is far" animation, like the throwing of the Blade of Woe animation.

And before someone says our strain doesn't have fangs, there is no evidence of this being intended as part of the canon instead of being just ZOS not wanting to change the character model for something that almost never will be seen. Keep in mind that, when vampire appearance is concerned in this game, shortcuts are the norm. I mean, the vampire skin is literally a semi-transparent overlay that goes over everything, including tattoos and make up.
