Looking Forward to Housing?

Housing is the next big thing coming to ESO. Though it seems to have a lot of people in well, kind of a panic. "What if I cant afford it?

I can totally understand that thought. But I wonder whats with all the negativity. When a new feature is coming we should all go yay! Not just assume that its gonna be so expensive that only rich players can afford it. I suppose it is always good to prepare for the worst. But at the same time its also good to hope for the best. All this negativity and just assuming its gonna be super expensive, its kinda depressing really. Why be excited about a new feature if the attitude around it is "oh dont bother, no one can afford it anyway."

Im trying to be a bit of an optimist, but also a realist. Its only realistic to assume that it will cost a bit. But at the same time one can always be a bit of an optimist and hope it wont be super expensive. We dont know what its gonna cost, we have no idea. Lets at least put a halt on all the negativity and assumption that its gonna cost millions. Because we dont know.

But anyways, this poll is not about housing costs. The point of this poll, or question with it. Are you looking forward to housing?

I'm looking forward to it, I'm just not super excited about it. I'd be excited if we were getting a big chunk of map to explore; as it is I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be something to keep me occupied for at least a weekend.

I get that some people RP n all...but to sit in my RL home to switch a machine on to sit in my VR home....seriously is this how low gaming has got...I'd rather a new zone to play in tbh.

Still don't get it. Everyone will grind out whatever it is for them and then moan there is nothing to do and we want a proper dlc etc etc...

The more I think about it, the more I feel like housing was released only because ZOS will be able to make a lot of profit from it through crown store transactions relative to actual content, such as a new zone or dungeon, which we won't be having for almost a year now.

Housing has always been one of favorite aspects in MMO's. The idea of owning your little piece of Tamriel to hang out with fellow adventures sounds awesome. I cant wait!

Really don't get it or what it actually does. If it had functional stuff for the game, sure, like storage, but I dont get why you need a virtual home. I'm sure the full RP guys will be stoked.

I'm looking forward to it personally but I can totally dig the trepidation a lot of people have about how much it might cost. I have a feeling that many people will just assume they can afford the best thing with the gold they have saved up, and that it will simply not be true. I would figure that the majority of people should be able to afford at least a small house, though, assuming they have any reasonable amount of gold saved. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Depends on the features. If it is just to decorate and create your own crafting stations or whatever, then not really. Extra storage will probably be sold on the crown store.

I am a sucker for player housing anyway, and I have sunk hours upon hours into Hearthfire... but having stumbled across some of the player houses "in the wild", I'm starting to get properly excited for February. I doubt that I'll be able to afford any of them any time soon (if my experience with MMO housing is anything to go by, they're likely to cost millions a piece), but it'll be a nice new goal to work towards.

Doubt that going to happen when you need do those things just to be able craft or get furniture to decorate your home. I know what I am going to do. Buy a nice large house and start crafting all of the crafting stations. Then park my crafting alts in the house. No more overcrowded cities, no more long loading screens because there is too many players in one area, no more skill spamers, no more duelists, and no more players complaing about who is more elite. Just a nice and quiet place where I can have a proper place to think. I will have my bookcase filled with lorebooks that I have collected to keep me company and can basked in the greatness of owning a home in Tamriel. I cannot wait.

I am sorta looking forward to it. I want housing, but it has been way too long without any update on the main story and that is annoying me.

I am looking forward to the thing that Rich said is supposed to happen and kick the plot forward on update 13 more than to housing itself because of how long it has been since we got an update with actual content.

I'm looking forward to the PTS, and will have fun freely experimenting with all the houses I can. I expect that I will be bored of it by the time it goes live, so if I can't afford it when it comes out I don't imagine I will give two flying fox.

I don't care either way about housing. Why log into a game to sit in a house?!? If it had some functionality like storage then yes. I guess the RPers will use them for social events, which is great for them. They should have also implemented guild housing or halls as that would be a more effective use of housing. What would have really been nice is if guild housing could start with a starter hall and either expand it as they grow in fame, or use 'guild points' to buy extensions on it.
